I joined Workaway, because I think it will allow me to combine my two passions. Italy and writing. A few years ago i fell in love with Italy. The culture, the people, the landscapes, the language, the food. Everything. I think that staying in Italy for a longer period, being in close contact with real Italians (skipping all the touristy stuff) and dwelling in the Workaway work, opens up a whole new dimension of Italy, previously unknown to me.
Secondly I am working on a bundle of short stories and have idea's for my first novel. However, being caught up in daily life I manage to get some work done, but not as much as I would like to. I can't help but think that the Italian landscape, the meditative work and the cultural enrichment of a workaway experience, combined with the piece of mind that being away from it all would give me, would give me the oppurtunity to really take it to the next level.
