Hello! I'm Tomás, a musician from Buenos Aires, Argentina living in Toulouse.

I work mainly as a guitar teacher, and I'm also a singer and songwriter. I don't have that many things online but if you want to type "Los contadores de arena" in any music platform you'll find an EP with my sort of indie-rock group sort of music. I also play jazz and have a degree in.

Why in Workaway?

Here in France, during some holidays breaks, I did some wonderful experiences on Workaway, doing all sorts of jobs, like cooking, playing and taking care of children, painting, cleaning and gardening. To meet people in this way is very meaningful to me, being part of the everyday life while learning and sharing a conversation, a dish or carrying out a work together. Having the taste of how does it feel to live in a mountain, on a hill or a big house in foreign city is just fantastic. I've also done some Coachsurfing further back, which was cool too. So currently, I'm seeking to do some new Workaway for this summer.

Lists of stuff...

Apart from music, I'm a curious person and there are plenty of things I love, like cinema (I mostly watch the Mubi platform these days), reading (I've been absorbed in the Vernon Subutex trilogy by Virginie Despentes lately), and kayaking (a thing that I do here in Argentina in the Delta de Tigre). In the mountains I love hiking and when in flat (...!) biking. Particularly, I cook almost everyday just because it changes my state of mind from more mental activitys and also beacause I like eating well...! Or for the eureka moment of improvising a new dish with the three things I got left in the fridge. I know how to do an asado (the Argentinian barbecue) if you like to, no probs with fulfilling that cliché : ) And, yes, I'm not vegetarian but I hardly eat meat once a week, so I can adapt perfectly if you happen to be one.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

While my primary work is as a music teacher, we can try to do some Spanish practice. I've done many different small and part-time jobs through the years which I've enjoyed and gained various types of experiences and skills. I've worked as a cook, a waiter, a music programmer, a child caregiver, managing house rentals and doing some handyman tasks on those houses. Among other jobs, for a summer I worked in the reception of a hostel in Brazil (Pandora Hostel in Itacaré), besides doing some gardening, repairs, web management and laundry over there. Years ago, I worked as travel guide and planner in Argentina with exchange students from Boston College. In other areas, I have some experience in photography, graphic design and general computer skills. I'm thoughtful and well-organized, or I try to, in any big or small task I commit to. I enjoy being with children too, I had teach guitar from the age of six sometimes and I also have young ones in my family that I babysit regularly, oh... I miss them...
