Description

I’m a 27-year-old Kiwi currently embarking on an extended journey through South America (four months and counting!). By day, I work on renewable energy projects in Australia, specifically wind, solar, and batteries (an area I’m deeply passionate about).

I like hiking, mountain biking, football, reading, and writing. You’ll often find me in cafes with friends, out at the beach, or exploring the mountains.

Back in 2019, I had an amazing experience with Workaway across three different volunteering projects, and the memories still stand out. The people I met, whether hosts, fellow volunteers, or participants made a lasting impact, and I’m excited to make new connections this time around.

I’m keen to explore off the beaten path destinations, improve my Spanish, and engage with local hosts and volunteers. I love the idea of learning new skills and unique experiences, so if there’s an opportunity for that, it’s definitely a big bonus! I’m not looking for “free” accommodation; I want to be involved fully in the projects I sign up for.

I’m an easygoing, sociable person who values respect and independence. I take initiative with tasks, and I’m comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Depending on my travel commitments, I’m looking to volunteer for 2 to 6 weeks.

My experience includes hospitality, bar service, food service, teaching English, gardening, child minding, and cleaning.

** Hospitality & Service **
I’ve worked in restaurants as a server and bartender, making cocktails, serving drinks, and keeping things running smoothly in busy environments. I’ve also helped with event setup and general service tasks.

** Teaching English **
I’ve taught English to kids, teenagers, and university students through camps and courses. I used to hold teaching certificates and really enjoy helping people improve their language skills.

** Gardening **
I’ve worked on both larger landscaping projects and general garden maintenance like pruning, planting, and tidying up.

** Child minding **
I’ve helped look after children, both through teaching English and general care. I’m patient and enjoy spending time with kids.

** Cleaning **
Bar work taught me a lot about cleaning and keeping spaces organised — especially during close and end-of-shift cleanups.
