I'm interested in creating things and learning new skills. I usually work very well with other people, but also don't mind being on my own. Happy to share ideas and teach about what I know.

Description

Hi there. About time to introduce myself. I'm Theo (short for Tjitze). I've just turned 54 and am living in The Netherlands with wife and kids (18/20). For WorkAway I will be travelling solo.

I have a technical/academic background. I've been working in high-tech ever since I've graduated. Professionally, I use computers a lot, but I also like to work with my hands. In my woodworking workshop at home, I'm making furniture and do DIY projects.

Hobbies and interests include scouting, DIY, music (listening, audio), archery, reading (fantasy), baking/cooking, boardgames, 3D-printing and of course building LEGO..
I recently discovered Pilates as a great way to relax and maintain my body.

I see myself as easy-going, curious and open-minded.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Woodworking - I've been working with wood for the last 25 yrs. I've got a (small) workshop at home for making furniture for friends/family/costumers. I like to make the things that are simply not available in the regular stores.
Cooking & Baking - during the week after a workday, there's not too much energy left to try new things in the kitchen. In the weekends there's more time for that. I'm nowhere near a professional level, but I'm having fun in the kitchen.
I've been doing a lot of general maintenance on our house over the last 10-15 years.
Computers - been working and playing with computers since I was 14. Usually I'll find a way to make the machine do what I want.
