Hello everyone,
I'm Tomo Kawahara, a Japanese currently on a working holiday in New Zealand.
I'm 32 years old, and I spent most of my twenties working in agriculture.
In Japan, I grew rice and cherry tomatoes, and also cultivated pesticide-free vegetables on my own, supplying them to cafés, restaurants, and supermarkets.

I have farming experience abroad as well. I've worked for a year on a vegetable farm here in New Zealand, and I've also worked on a banana farm in Australia.
In addition, I’ve done WWOOFing in Ireland, France, and Italy.

Although most of my experience is in agriculture, I’ve also worked as a kitchen hand and waiter at Italian restaurants, and as a housekeeper at a hotel during my travels.

Through Workaway, I’d love to experience more of New Zealand. I've been living in the same town for the past year and feel like there’s still so much more to explore. I'm hoping to use Workaway as a chance to meet locals and enjoy cultural exchanges.

You don’t need to worry about my physical strength—I work outside every day, and on my days off, I enjoy running and hiking.
I’m sure I won’t let you down.

My English isn’t fluent yet, but I can manage daily conversations.

On my days off, I often go running or hiking.
Recently, I’ve also started swimming. I’m still not very good at it, but I’d like to get better.

I enjoy watching sports, especially baseball and football—but of course, I watch rugby too!
I do drink a little alcohol, but honestly, I’m usually happy with a Coke after work.

My working holiday in New Zealand is coming to an end, and I really want to make some great memories before I leave.
