Hello Workawayers! Summer (22) and Matthew (25) here, currently living in Galway, Ireland! We're looking to do a Workaway this winter season with the possibility of extending after. We are (as of right now) hospitality works with Matthew doing bar work and I am a barista in a CBD vegan cafe! We have a collective of different skills- I have hotel reception experience, office and waiting/bar work and Matthew has worked in warehouse managing, bar supervising and he has an environmental science degree. We love travelling and immersing ourselves into other cultures and we finished our first work away in august in Spain! I am creative and arty and have a love for free thinkers and interesting people! Matthew is a nature enthusiast and loves working outside! We both enjoy skateboarding, trail walking, swimming, music, having a drink/ dance every now and then ;) and are animal lovers! We are motivated to work together with you to help create and achieve your desired projects and love learning new skills and meeting new people! We a hardworking, driven young couple, looking for a new experience that will hopefully positively impact our lives as well as yours!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Matthew: I am currently working in a busy bar in Galway city and I have lots of manual handling experience!! My Family owns a garage where I would lend a helping hand when needed. I recently graduated from a university in Galway Ireland, and I now have a degree in environmental science. I have a huge interest in mycology (study of fungi) and how we can apply this to help battle environmental issues. I am willing to lend a hand anywhere I am needed, be it in the garden, general house maintenance or with animals, I don’t really mind helping in any way!

Summer: I was working as a manager in a charity shop- working with elderly volunteers and students in a donation based clothes shop. But now I work in a little CBD cafe where we sell herbal medicines and make good vegan food/coffee! I love fashion, art and expression and I love helping my community flourish. I also have office, admin and reception expierence. I am doing an online TEFL course (teaching English as a foreign language) and hope to work abroad in the future. As a side business, I make earrings from old jewellery I’ve thrifted and collected!

We’re both really happy to help in all areas! We can cook, we’re respectfully tidy people and don’t mind taking care of these things ourselves! We are both motivated and hands on people so any physical work shouldn’t really put us off within reason ;)

We are very interested in new expierences and hope to gain some knowledge/ memories from this work away experience. We love chilling in the evening with people, having conversations about all topics were faced in society, life and we just want to connect with people again after Covid! Equally we both highly value our independence and space and love a balance between being together and alone! We’re interested in learning how to skii or snowboard- we both enjoy skating and would love the challenge of a snow involved sport! In return we can bring positivity, creativity, share our skills and apply hard work to your home/business or community! We’re not shy to communal living and are very respectful of space, keeping the environment clean and maintaining good vibes and peace!
