Description

I’m Sorcha - an Irish girl who loves travel, nature, hiking, swimming and reading, but above all, spending time with horses and other animals.
Extremely experienced with horses, I am keen to volunteer in Chile/ Argentina as it has long been a plan of mine to visit Patagonia.
I am friendly and tidy, speak native English, fluent Irish and basic German and French. I have previous volunteer experience but this is my first time using workaway. I have travelled plenty over the last 10 years and have worked abroad with horses professionally, having ridden and trained with an Olympic gold medalist in Australia.
I have worked in the hospitality industry in Ireland, so am also trained in customer service and guest interaction.
I am BHS Stage 2 ride qualified and Horse Sport Ireland Introduction to Coaching certified. I am a current fully certified first aid responder trained to Level 5 in Ireland.
I hold a degree in Microbiology.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Highly experienced with horses, currently working as a horseriding instructor and trekking guide in Ireland. I am trained in equine first care and can inject both intra muscular and intra venous, I can remove horse shoes and broken nails, trim/pair feet and recognise signs of illness such as lameness and colic very early.

Separately I can provide excellent customer service both from working in one of Irelands leading and most famous pub/restaurants and from my time working as a horseriding instructor and trekking guide on Ireland.
Great ability to make people feel relaxed and welcome - some Irish charm helps!
