Hello! My name is Sonja and I am from a small island off the coast of British Columbia Canada. Growing up in such a small community has motivated me to get out and see more of the world. I have finished secondary school and am currently taking a gap year to travel around New Zealand for a couple months with two of my friends. I am really looking forward to this and would love to help out at your home or homestead

A little bit about me, I love spending time outdoors and around animals. I grew up on a farm so I have some experience caring for and spending time with animals.
I also grew up in a large family of 6 siblings so large family settings are something I'm quite comfortable with.

Additionally I love sharing good conversation and a solid game of cards. I'd call myself decent at rummy and love some good competition :)
I am very passionate about the environment and protecting it. Id love to partake in any and all restoration projects and the like. I also grew up in a very artistic home and love anything to do with the arts and creating. I'd love to join in on artistic ventures and visions

I love to meet new people, new adventures, hiking, exploring new cultures and just hanging out. I am open to any opportunities thrown my way!

I grew up speaking English so I am fluent and I did French immersion for 6 years (although it's pretty intermediate). Casually teaching English/French or helping someone improve is something I am more than willing to do.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

So far I have some skills in these fields (but I'm open to learning anything :)

-Cooking: I worked in a restaurant ago and I cook and bake as a side hobby. It is something I really enjoy and I often cook meals for my family and friends. I also love to use local ingredients and am very passionate about self sustainability and food preservation such as canning, dehydrating, harvesting etc..

-Housekeeping: I worked as a housekeeper and launderer at a hotel for 1yr

-Childcare: I have many siblings and growing up often babysat them. I also have worked for my local community services doing childcare and this past summer I worked as a camp counsellor for troubled youth ages 7-14

-Gardening and farm work: I grew up on a farm amd currently work on one so I have experience tending to and caring for animals such as horses, goats, chickens, ducks, and cows. My brother is a very avid gardener and farmer and I have often helped him out doing physical labor jobs such as weeding, harvesting, and tilling.
