Description
First of all, I've never been very good at talking about myself. Makes me feel weird, like I'm boasting too much or trying to be the center of attention.
Okay. Here are a few basics about me.
I'm a US Navy veteran and a former construction worker/farm kid from Wisconsin, USA.
I really miss that life.
I HATE living in cities and doing desk jobs.
It's suffocating, and being away from the countryside makes me feel hollow.
I'm looking for a fresh start; need to clear my head and find a better perspective on where life's headed for me.
I'm pretty laid back and easy going; if something sounds like fun, I'm all for trying it.
I love to write, and I'm also a voracious reader.
Whenever I have a chance, I'll go to a library or used book store and spend hours rummaging for something cool and unusual.
Pretty sure I've developed a significantly unhealthy book habit, and possibly even an addiction.
I don't talk even remotely like I write, most of the time. Only when I'm goofing off.
My sense of humor reflects my eclectic (ooh, nice rhythm there) reading habits. Dry, sarcastic, a little "out
I don't have any real plan in mind, other than to experience whatever happens.
I want to see what the world has to offer, and to find friends I wouldn't normally have made by keeping myself stuck over here in America and living on stale dreams.
There are a few things about me that potential hosts should be made aware of, for the sake of full disclosure, so that they can make a fully informed decision on whether or not they want to have me as a guest.
I'm on the autism spectrum, and I have what is called a "flat aspect," which basically means that I can come off as unenthusiastic or "down" even when I'm feeling excited and happy.
I also can't stand the texture of microfiber, and can "taste" strong scents in the back of my throat.
For example: the smell of hay tastes dry and sweet.
I walk with a slight limp and can't run very well, because my left leg is a little bit shorter than my right, but it doesn't hinder my ability to work.
I have mild PTSD, from my military service (NOT combat related), and there might be times I'll have panic attacks.
However, I'm aware when they're coming on and will just ask for a couple of hours to myself for a while.
I'm transgender (female to male) and am on hormone therapy.
I know that this might go against a person's beliefs Aor morals and would rather have them dismiss any future contact from the .
Spoʻringing something like that on a person, or having it come out in an awkward situation later, causes unnecessary conflict and I don't want to do that to anyone.
At the moment, a lot of my DIY skills are wildly out of practice. I'm also a bit out of shape, which could slow me down.Centres d’intérêt

Basically, if you set me to something and show me how it's done, I'll probably learn it quickly.
I've learned that you've got to adapt to whatever situation life throws you into and pick up as many skills as you possibly can while you're at it.
However, when it comes to the physical labor, I'm out of practice and a bit out of shape, so I'd have to be given a bit of a refresher on some stuff.Âge

Autres infos...
I like heavier rock, the classic stuff, blues and Johnny Cash. Some Country and popular stuff is okay, but I just naturally gravitate toward some genres over others.
I love to try new foods, and I prefer my veggies straight out of the garden. Canned stuff tastes horrible and metallic.Informations complémentaires

Feedback
Denise is a great cook, and was very welcoming.
Chris has a really funny sense of humor, and is great for a laugh.
I'm just sorry that I wasn't in good enough shape to be of more help at the time.
