Hi there!
I am looking to volunteer somewhere dynamic and social - I am keen to meet people from all over the world! I love art and I am going to study illustration later this year, so any creative projects are a definite plus. I love nature and the outdoors, as well as places with history - anything that serves as an interesting subject for a drawing or painting! Through workaway I would like to improve my communication skills, as well as gain independence before I move to university.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Not only do I have painting skills in the artistic sense, but I can also decorate rooms to a fairly high standard - my parents have trusted me with painting most of the house, which has involved removing nails, filling holes, sanding back surfaces, ceiling painting, wall painting and edging, which I have a very steady hand for.

I also have experience in retail and working full time at a garden centre, which has taught me commercial and customer service skills. This has helped me to fit in as part of a team, as well as developed a strong work ethic, as the days were 9.5 hours long.

Finally, I have worked for a local artist since 2021, helping with advertisement on social media, cleaning and maintaining of the studio, and witnessing how a business is run. I started this job as work experience, but due to my dedication I have been working for her for many years now, in-between work and school.

I have always been a hard worker, putting my all into whatever I am working on, as well as working well within a team. I am easy to get along with and love to learn new skills!

While painting I enjoy listening to podcasts on history and espionage, especially although not limited to the 20th Century, as I enjoyed the subject a lot at school. I visit museums and galleries regularly, taking my sketchbook along with me. I am also interested in sustainable shopping- I enjoy buying secondhand clothes and up cycling them - adding antique lace, embroidering and altering. I rarely buy new items as I am conscious of their effect on the environment, and I find giving old clothes a new lease of life immensely satisfying. This also extends to interior design, as I have sourced most of the contents of my room from antique stores or charity shops - I enjoy curating spaces and making them my own! I also enjoy reading a wide range of mostly fiction books, and walking my dog in the woods near my house.
