Hi everyone,

I'm 35 years old freelance journalist from Scotland.

I have much experience of practical jobs outdoors in all weather. I've worked summers as a labourer for a landscape gardener company, as ground crew in tree surgery and putting up tents at music festivals. These jobs included using power tools, though I'm not a skilled worker. I am, however, fit and healthy and uncomplaining.

I've lived and volunteered in situations with little privacy and used Couchsurfing and Warmshowers (Like Couchsurfing for cyclists) in the past, so can comfortably live in close quarters with people of all backgrounds. I consider myself a polite and respectful person.

I've been on many long distance cycling trips, one from Scotland to Morocco, another Scotland to Georgia, as well as shorter trips around Japan and New Zealand. I also love hiking trails and have walked all over Scotland and Spain. Going on trips like these with a couple of books in my bags is probably my favourite thing to do.

I work in journalism so I think research and writing are what I can sit and do best. Which isn't always so useful for a practical website like this...

I've worked in landscape gardening and as ground crew for a tree surgery company Though I am unskilled as a manual worker, I have used power tools and know good safety practices.

I think my main attributes as a labourer are that I'm fit and uncomplaining.
