Hey =).

We are a family of four travelling with our old VW T3 campervan, our friendly Kelpie, and a big curiosity for people and places. Jana is 37, Robbe is 30, and our two children are 4 years and 20 months old.

At the moment we are both on parental leave and decided to use this special time to experience something meaningful together as a family. Instead of staying at home, we chose to slow down, travel through Northern Europe, and create memories while our children are still little.

Over the years we have travelled through many countries, always keeping things simple. We love low-budget adventures, camping, hitchhiking, and exploring places at a slow pace. We believe that the best way to discover a country is not through tourist attractions but by meeting the people who live there.

For us, travelling is about connection. We love getting a glimpse into everyday life, sharing stories, learning new skills, and becoming part of a family for a little while. We have already volunteered in different countries and always appreciated the friendships and experiences that came from it. We are happy to help wherever an extra pair of hands is needed.

Robbe enjoys practical work and can turn his hand to almost anything. He especially likes preparing firewood, working outdoors, and helping with maintenance projects. He also has some experience with plumbing, reception work, and hospitality, and enjoys learning new skills.

I (Jana) work as a registered nurse on a geriatric ward in Germany. One of the things I love most about my job is listening to people’s life stories. I enjoy meaningful conversations, helping others, and learning from people of all ages.

Our two children are open-hearted, curious, and quickly make friends with both people and animals. Because they are still young, one of us will usually spend time with them while the other works, but we are flexible and happy to find a routine that suits everyone.

Our Kelpie is calm, friendly, and very easy-going. He enjoys being around people, loves the outdoors, and is used to travelling with us.

Back home we own an almost 200-year-old house, so we know there is always something to repair, improve, or build. We enjoy simple living, being surrounded by nature, and finding happiness in everyday moments.

One small confession: we can definitely cook, and no one will go hungry… but we wouldn’t say cooking is one of our greatest talents! 😄

We are looking forward to meeting kind people, sharing experiences, working hard, learning from each other, and creating lasting memories together.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both worked in social jobs before we started traveling, like to take care of people and are open minded.
During our journey we volunteered in a hostel and on tobacco farm, where we also stayed with the family.
We don´t mind to make our hands dirty and we really would like to learn new skills.

We did learn a lot off new things while we stayed in Australia. Hands on jobs like general farm jobs. (weeding, pruning, cleaning, spraying, ...) And also more specific jobs like driving heavy machinery and maintaining them. Or working in a lab and analysing samples. Being responsible like working alone but also looking after a group off workers. We are always happy to learn new things and not scared of a new challenge :).

Robbe really likes sports and outdoor activities. He would love to learn how to play the guitar.
Jana hiked in 2016 the Pacific Crest Trail in America and loves hiking and adventures.
We both love animals, being outside and the sun =).
Gravy, our dog, is really social. He likes cuddles, playing with other dogs and exploring. He is well behaved and listens very well. 😁
