Hi,

My name is Rob, I am dual Irish-Canadian citizen. I grew up in Roscommon in rural Ireland and I recently finished a PhD in peatlands and predator monitoring in the far north of Scotland.

My favourite thing are hiking, camping, kayaking, surfing, music and lifting heavy things...

I have always wanted to live in Canada, particularly Newfoundland and I am hoping to eventually find ecology work in my field. In the meantime I would like to work somewhere outdoors as a break after my PhD and to get a foothold in Canada, as applying for work from abroad isn't easy.

I enjoy working outside, with animals and I am very active, strong and fit.

I also used to host travellers on couchsurfing and 'WarmShowers' so I can empathize with the hosting experience.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience working outdoors for long hours in harsh conditions as part of my PhD fieldwork, volunteering and conducting surveys for businesses. I enjoy working outdoors and with animals and I train strength and fitness often so I have no issues with physical labour.

I also have experience working and a server a cook in several restaurants and as a packer in a warehouse.
