Description

Hey, I‘m Rieke Depenau, 24 years old and from Hannover. I have just passed my Bachelor's degree in Architecture (August 2025). Apart from that I love new adventures and going out of my comfort zone. So in the little time besides studying I challange myself with trying new things like learning to play ukulele and I finished my boat license.

In the last years I followed my dreams like going on my first solo-trip in Portugal and learn surfing. I also did my first roadtrip experience. I drove with a study friend throught Belgium, France and Spain. We sleept in our car which we built up into a little camper van.
Apart from that I achieved dreams like going on a vacation without using my smartphone and passed my windsurfing license in the last years.

After my abitur I did an apprenticeship to become a Draftswoman in building construction. After my Architecure studies (now) I would like to do a year abroad in Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. For that I improve my English skills.

I‘m a open-minded person and love getting to know new people. I like to exchange ideas, share experiences and learn new things while travelling.

So what else?
I've been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. From the start of my studies, I support my team by photographing the games and look after the social media channel. Being creative is one of my passions. In my freetime I photograph landscapes, take detail shots and improve my videography skills.

All in all you can see that I am a problem solver through my apprenticeship and my studies. I'm good at getting involved in a team, but I also know how to live on my own.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I grew up in a rural area. My close relatives have a farm in my village. I was often there as a child and was familiar with country life, milk production and animal husbandry from an early age. Also, I grew up learning how to harvest potatoes. In my youth I often helped with the potato harvest and still do today.

I earned my first money when I was 16. I started as a waiter in two places altogether
five years. Here I was able to learn early how to deal with customers and what it means to earn my own money.
In the followed years, I learned how to invest the money I earned and how I can save my financial security and my retirement provision. I am happy to share knowledge about investing money.

I knew very early that I wanted to be an architect. I made a conscious decision to do an apprenticeship as a draftswoman in structural engineering to have a practical basis and to have already been in the working world.
During this time, I also completed internships on the construction site in the areas of shell construction, finishing, measurement and I was actively involved in the construction.
I am currently studying architecture in the 3rd semester Bachelor and I am very happy to promote my passion. My father is a carpenter and I grew up with sustainable building materials. In my future I would like to specialize in sustainable construction.
I would like to develop my practical skills more in order to consolidate and expand my theoretical understanding.

I have also developed my passion for photography and videography in recent years. I work at my university for the marketing area and for the social media channel. I also volunteer for two Instagram channels. On the one hand I support our football team and on the other hand the alumni association of my former school. I taught myself most of my knowledge in this area and deepened it with a university course. I would also like to develop further in this area.

I'm on my way to becoming the best version of myself because I know behind every fear is an opportunity to grow. And no matter how difficult the path turns out to be, there is always something to learn from it.
