Description

We enjoy traveling, nature, bush walking, cycling and new experiences. Leah was a clinical nurse / midwife / educator and Richard is a travel consultant with an IT background. We both love learning new skills and meeting new people. So far we have helped with cleaning, painting, laundry, dishwashing, gardening, preparing food and drinks in a cafe, etc. via HelpX and other charity/volunteer organisations.
We have run a B&B for 9 years and have raised a number of orphaned joeys (baby kangaroo).
Last year (2024) we helped maintaining a B&B in Scotland (Melfort House) for 4 weeks during a cycle holiday through Europe.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both are quite serious about cleaning since we ran a B&B for about 9 years. We are both very service focussed and are flexible to adjust to situations and requirements. In 2001 we migrated from Holland to Australia, so we speak fluent Dutch and English. Our German and French is basic, which we hope to improve a bit more during our cycling trip in 2026. Richard is a travel consultant with an IT background (20 years). Leah was a clinical nurse/midwife/educator (34 years). Needless to say we both love travel, learning about other cultures and customs and especially food! To break up our trips, we enjoy doing some volunteer work, which helps us immerse ourselves in the culture of the country or region we are in.
We both drive manual cars (utility car).
