Travel has become a big part of my life. I love to hike and take pictures. Just not having a plan, taking in every impression, seeing places & meeting people when you don't expect it.

Description

My name is Ricarda, I’m 30 years old and from Germany. I'm currently traveling through Australia ( rn in Fremantle ) on my WHV.
I’m an adventurous, helpful, open-minded, and curious person.

For the past three years, I’ve been going on longer backpacking trips from time to time – most recently through the U.S., Canada, Ireland, Italy Portugal, New Zealand, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia. During my stays in Italy and the Azores, I got to explore farming and housekeeping in depth and realized how strongly I feel connected to nature.

I genuinely enjoy working with my hands and am not afraid of physical tasks: from fruit picking, gardening, harvesting, and ploughing to cooking, housework, organizing, or even small repairs – I’m happy to help wherever needed. I’m also good at working independently and enjoy planning and organizing tasks.

I completed a barista course (including Food Safety) and would love to gain more experience in hospitality, tourism, or small community cafés and hostels. I’m very interested in sustainable living, nature and animal care, and creative or artistic projects.

I deeply value shared living and community: I’m reliable, respectful, and open to cultural exchange.

Through Workaway, I hope to continue gaining hands-on experience, contribute actively, and learn from others while discovering the diversity of people and cultures around the world.

In Germany I am an optician's assistant and have worked in the profession for about 10 years. Also worked in another company where it was about small events by mixing cocktails and delivering cocktails.
I regularly cleaned other people's homes and helped with renovations.
I was active in the sale of coffee and groceries as well as clothing.

I am very interested in cooking, especially in traditional dishes, depending on the country I am in, I would like to learn everything about it and try to cook it.
