Kia ora! I'm currently traveling Aotearoa (New Zealand), completly by hitchhiking and workaways. Give me a bell to see where I am and I'd love to go on a tramp, a hitch, or just about anything!
Description
Kia ora! I'm Reuben, coming soon to a layby, footpath, or other side of the road near you. With a thumb, a smile, and maybe a sign?
I always enjoy learning new skills and helping teach people the skills I know. I've spent 2 years on a Care Farm in the UK teaching all sorts of people about farming, woodworking, and different conservation works I do. And I have now spent a year doing workaways around Australia. From petting farms up North near Darwin, to budding permaculture homesteads in Victoria, to landscaping in a family garden as far south as I could go in Hobart.Centres d’intérêt

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am experienced wood turning, and know a bit of other disciplines of woodwork. I have taught some young people the basics of woodturning and helped them make all sorts of projects on Countryways at Road Farm. From a Dice cup shaped like a barrel, to a set of shed doors.
I also have experience working with children of all ages. In both a school setting and a more relaxed setting. From working as a Playworker for children aged 6-10 and many school visits hosted by Countryways.
I also have experience with instaling and repairing fencing. As well as some working with cattle and other animals.Âge

Autres infos...
As you may have seen in my profile, I have done a range of things at Countryways. A full list would be tough to pin down. But it can be summed up as Animal and Land management, as well as woodworking with reclaimed or localy sourced wood.
I love hiking, and enjoy setting off in one direction and walking until I feel like turning around. As well as more planned out routes.
On any walks I always keep an eye out for the small details. Insects, flowers, mosses. The way a tree has hollowed out, the waves in rocks. I've recently gotten more into photography, and I am trying to get better at that by taking a lot of photos.
I also like cooking and eating new things, although it doesn't always go as well as I hope.
Boardgames are always fun to do, can't say I'm a champion of any one game. But I enjoy a good game of scrabble, and once won a game of Monoply!
This is getting a bit long, so I'll keep this last bit quick. I love astronomy, in fact the night skys are a big reason why I came to Australia!
I also know a fair few target sports. Archery, rifle shooting, and Axe Throwing to be prescise. And have been a range officer or assistant range officer for all of them multiple times.Informations complémentaires

Whilst I was there I learnt all sorts about her plans to become more self sufficient and was inspired by how much she has transformed her farm. Sarah also took me on a wonderful tour of the Silo art, with a secret mural as well.
I was there during the colder months. So the flower farm… read more
