Hi Phil here, from a very early age I have been most adventurous, travelling and working in many countries around the globe. My career allowed me to do and try many adventurous sports including mountaineering, horseback riding in the Rocky Mountains, and all kinds of watersports.

In addition to the ability to try out new and exciting sports, my first career has given me many skill sets. These were developed further in later life.
Skills such as Automotive repairs, welding, building, plumbing and Carpenter skills.

After leaving my first career, I started and ran my language school for executives and specialized managers based in the Ruhr Valley in Germany for twenty years.

Together with my wife we operated this business and developed other businesses along the way. A Retail Business and Photo Studio, (keen Photographer). Also Interim Management for Event Management Enterprise to support a friend financially during a Long Term illness.

In the mid 2013, we retired and moved to the north German coast where I developed my skills further in wood and metal. Working as a volunteer on historic sailing ships and yachts. During the sailing time worked as Chief engineer operating and maintaining the engines, and also cooking for the Crew and guests on abord. In the time between the sailing turns and during the Winter months we would carry out repairs and maintenance tasks. During this time I got a good reputation for being able to repair and service historic yachts. Due to the many requests from other hobby boat enthusiasts, I started a part-time repair and boat services business.

This year I have decided to take a sabbatical 2 years out and discover the Iberian peninsular mid mid-May 2024 my Journey starts with trains, coaches and walking I travelled from the North Sea via Paris and Barcelona to Alicante. After 2 weeks of acclimatization, I moved up the coast to El Campello and then pushed on up into the mountains around Xixona and Alcoy, where I carried out my first work away style tasking. Tasks were all varied, from Garden (Farming) and forestry tasks, welding, plumbing, woodwork, electric installation, generator, water pump servicing and repairs also vehicle and Farm machine repairs. Some cooking, cleaning and bar service. This young pleasant family had two young children aged two and five Babysitting at the Poolside during the day was involved too.

Although I was well integrated into this family I am looking for also for my own time and space. I enjoy time alone in a peaceful environment.

I would describe myself as a friendly person with a Swiss Army knife skill set, (both varied and wide) as a team player who gets the Job done.

Boat Work, Farm Hand, Glamping or Yoga reteats and of course off off-grid living style are the types of tasks sought.

After Alcoy, I moved to Mallorca and there I helped on a farmstead. The Main tasks during the 4 weeks were car repairs mainly engine repair including cylinder head gasket replacement and electrical fault finding. After leaving Mallorca I moved back to the mainland and the town/area Ducal near Granada there I assisted a Dutch lady in setting up her Yoga Retreat and renovating the pool and water supply for the Perma garden. Mid September I visited relatives in the United Kingdom and Germany, I Returned to Spain in mid-October and travelling by ferry via Santander over Madrid and Murcia I continued my Sabbatical years assisting a wonderful person who through a major illness required some support mainly driving, housekeeping and smaller DIY Projects. This kind of person over the years has had over the last 15 years many work away supporters. And therefore I got much good advice for my journey, I thank her for this time and insight.

After just under 2 months here in the area of Puerto de Mazarron, (Isla Plana) Murcia Provinz it is time to move on currently open to new workaway experiences. In any Mediterranean country or back to the Spanish islands, looking for reliable long-term projects. Four weeks plus and over. the Christmas and New Year's periods saw me working at a local bar in the marina which I very much enjoyed and was fantastic for my Spanish language improvement. Currently I am in the city of Almeria enjoying the warm weather and looking for that next employment or Workaway project. 2024 was fantastic let's see what happens in 2025.

I speak both English and German fluently.
