Description

Hi! My name is Patrene, I am a 29-year-old Senior Designer from Singapore, primarily specialising in social media marketing. I have worked in an advertising agency, a magazine and a perfume house – would be happy to share any knowledge I have!

Despite my profession, I'm really an artist at heart. I love painting and sketching as a way to destress. I truly love visiting art galleries as my visits inspire me to create. My iPad is my best art buddy at the moment, though I would love to have my own studio some day and fill it with canvases and prints.

I'm very familiar with domestic pets, having volunteered at local shelters for more than half my life, and my household has never gone without the presence of a furry friend until the passing of my old Jack Russell at the ripe age of 18 back at the end of 2021.

I also enjoy heading out of the city and viewing amazing landscapes, bonus if I get to say hello to a horse (but I love all animals, we don't gatekeep pats over here)!

Also fuelled by good coffee (3 times a day, sometimes), and would appreciate any recommendations.

In 2023, I made the long-awaited move to do a working holiday in Australia and will be arriving in August. Would very much love to explore together!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have 7 years of experience with graphic design and social media marketing and am very comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite as a whole (apart from Dreamweaver), so would be able to help with anything design related! I could also provide advice on growing your brand's social media presence, and I've been told I take pretty good photos if you need help with that!

I have never considered myself a writer, but I am now trying to get a little blog going and would be able to help you with writing social media captions, or if you just need to brainstorm some story ideas.

I love animals and have had many pets growing up, my oldest one being our family dog (Jack Russell) that passed away at the end of 2021 at the ripe old age of 18. I've volunteered with our local animal shelters for more than half my life, and am familiar with handling all domestic pets (except birds, but I am willing to learn, no fear). I seem to be some sort of cat whisperer, as even the most anti-social cats seem to like me pretty quickly. I've also had a fish tank, so can help with scrubbing out algae and the like.

I'm also a plant mom and have way too many succulents at home, so am not afraid of getting my hands dirty with a little gardening work or even helping around the house in general.

As I'm from Singapore, I could give you great food recommendations if you're ever in the country, or help you learn a bit of Singlish if you'd like (heh). Can provide cultural exchange with some Singaporean insight if you're keen on that, too.

I always advocate for being a constant work-in-progress, and would never shy away from learning something new!

I'm also a gamer (I have a PS5), and a self-proclaimed karaoke queen (I'm really just a mic-hogger). I do yoga when I can, though I am more comfortable with yin than yang.
