Description

Hi! We are Jana and Patrick a German couple that is currently traveling through Europe. We are both very hands on person and are always happy to help with everything that comes along ;-).

One year ago after traveling through Portugal on our usual 2-weeks annual leave, we decided that it would be great to have some time to explore Europe and here we are. We bought a campervan, quit our jobs (or in Patrick case reduced) and now have six months to get to knew our continent.

Back in Germany we were both trainer in our locals sports club on a voluntary basis. It is always so nice to be part of a bigger community and meet new people that are like minded. Jana is a Gymnast, while Patrick did triathlon for a couple of years and now likes to do every outdoor sport, such as cycling, hiking, climbing and swimming.

Apart from being sporty, Jana is a true craftswomen. Heir friends and family sometimes call her Macgyver, as she is so intuitiv with DIY work. In addition she started pottery a couple of years ago. Patrick is not far behind on the DIY skills as he already supported friends with renovating their houses. However, we are no craftsmen/women be education, but picked up some skills along the way.

We both studied abroad for some time and are fluent in English and German. It was also the first time for us to truly get in contact with people from other cultures and we loved it. In the following we missed this aspect on our journeys. With Workaway we hope that we can once embrace this love for other cultures and get in a true exchange.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We have some basic DIY-skills (wallpapering, painting, laying floor, bring on lamps, etc.). In addition, we did some woodwork during the pandemic (raised bed, bike holder). We both like to cook with fresh ingredients and sometimes don’t mind to stay a little longer in the kitchen, if we prepare something on a higher difficult level.

In our past we both did a lot of voluntary work in summer camps and at our local sports club with children and teens.

Jana is doing pottery on a good level and loves to learn new arts and crafts. Patrick has some skills in bike repair and maintenance. We are both not shy in learning new skills.
