Hello dear people out there,

My name is Nia, I’m 31 years old, and I’ve loved traveling for as long as I can remember. In my twenties, I hitchhiked across many European countries and fell in love with the random, friendly, and heartwarming encounters along the way.

Alongside my rather theoretical studies, I’ve always worked with my hands (gardening, crafting, DIY projects, and art, especially music) to stay grounded and balanced. During my Master’s, I focused on climate and environmental management, but eventually found myself in a 9-to-5 office job. Recently, I decided to leave that behind, realizing it doesn’t truly fit who I am and what I want.

In my free time, I’ve been exploring Buddhism, and values like kindness, interconnectedness, and healthy boundaries have become very meaningful to me.

Right now, I’m looking to step away from big city life, screens, and constant overstimulation. I’d love to work with my hands again. Putting them in the soil, listening to nature, fixing things around the house, and being part of a kind and welcoming community. Since I already have experience in this kind of work, I see Workaway as a beautiful opportunity to create a genuine win-win situation.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I enjoy practical, hands-on work and adapt easily to what’s needed. I have experience with small renovation and maintenance tasks like repairing fences, painting walls, and fixing tools. I’m not afraid to try new things—if I don’t know how to do something yet, I’m happy to learn quickly and figure it out.

I also have solid experience in gardening. I’ve worked in a gardening and landscaping company, and I’m comfortable with tasks like organizing vegetable beds, taking care of plants and flowers, and general outdoor work.

Beyond that, I like contributing to a positive and harmonious atmosphere. I’m good at organizing and cleaning, enjoy fermenting food, and can bring a calm, grounded presence to a space. And if there’s a guitar around, I’m always happy to share some music :)
