Hola! I’m Miguel, a 31-year-old from Spain.

I’m currently embracing a nomadic lifestyle, seeking new places and experiences and trying to learn how to live otherwise (around and/or against the system). I’m deeply interested in nature, community living, DIY projects, horizontal organisation, and different lifestyles. I love learning about people’s stories and hopes, and sharing and building things together.

After several years at university and working for news outlets and institutions, I realised I often felt like an outsider and that the conventional path wasn’t where I wanted to be. Then I decided to stop trying to “build a career” and focus on learning more about different ways of living and social realities that seemed much more interesting to me. I currently work as a freelance translator (and I don’t work many hours a week), which allows me to go wherever I want and put most of my energy into projects I care about, or just chill :) I’ve also been doing seasonal work during harvest seasons for the last few years.

I have some experience in volunteering and social projects. During my university years, I participated in several social movements in Spain and France. During the Covid lockdown, I organised a temporary food bank with some friends for people in our neighbourhood in Madrid. While travelling in Bolivia, I taught English and helped children with their homework. I also taught languages at an ecological school in a community in Brazil. I spent a month on an organic farm in Brazil learning about syntropic agriculture. In the south of France, I helped build a sustainable construction project and manage a free shop for a community-living initiative. Most recently, I volunteered with an NGO in Spain, helping migrants obtain the documents needed for the extraordinary regularisation process.

I would love to travel, learn, and share my skills through meaningful projects. I’m also trying to figure out where to settle and how to start (or join) a community, and I’d love to hear about your stories and experiences.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’m handy with gardening, planting, and harvesting. I already have some experience, and I’m eager to learn all the different tasks involved in daily farm life.

I can also help with sustainable building, maintenance, and repairs. Basically, whatever is needed.

I’m happy to share household responsibilities such as cleaning, cooking, and taking care of animals.

I’m fluent in Spanish, French, and English, and I can help with translation and interpretation. I’m also able to communicate in Italian.

I have a background in journalism and law, and I can help with legal research, administrative tasks, storytelling, press releases, copywriting, and social media.

I’m also passionate about video and video editing, and I’d be happy to help with anything from small clips to longer documentary projects (I love documentaries).

I’m a creative person who enjoys finding different ways to tell stories and communicate ideas, and I’m always happy to help with that.
