Hi!

I am an adventurous guy from Norway who loves working with his hands and enjoys sharing cultural experiences. After working in the IT-business for several years, I finally took the leap to go traveling for a year!

During my travels I hope to meet other people that I can share skills and experiences with. I see travel as an eye opening experience and I believe there is a lot of good in the world.

I enjoy working with my hands and crafting, socializing with others, learning about new cultures and trying new activities and foods. I would say that I am eager to learn, genuine, hard working, always putting on a smile and making (bad) jokes,

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a professional IT-consultant that specializes in software development. After studying and working with this for the last 6 years, I have a lot of general knowledge in electronics, IT and computers. When I was younger I also went to a vocational school for electrical and telecommunication work, but I am not certified within this field.

Despite this background and job in IT, I desire to work more with my hands and as little as possible on a screen as this is one of my goals for this year long trip I am currently embarking on.

For a longer period I have gained a big interest in woodworking. My grandfather was a very skilled woodworker, as well as my dad, and I am hoping to carry this legacy on. I still have lots to learn, but I have made several fine woodworking projects such as smaller tables, shelves, cabinets etc. I also have experience and skills in using epoxy in woodworking project. This is regarded as very high value projects due to the high cost and difficulty in using epoxy. With these skills in fine woodworking, I would love to learn more or teach some of those skills to others. I haven't worked to much with framing and bigger carpentry projects, but I think my skills in woodworking will help a lot and I am very eager to learn!

In addition to the woodworking, I do enjoy the creativity and design phase of projects. I recently renovated my apartment in Norway and the interior design was a big part of it. I put up a new brick wall, shelves, painted everything, built an extension couch/wine storage to the kitchen cabinets etc.

As much as I like to drink a nice cold beer a saturday night after a long day of woodworking, I also enjoy making it. I have been brewing both beer, cider and wine for about a year, but mostly with kits - so I want to learn more about brewing. I also take some pride in the design of all my different labels used on the bottles for my brews.

I don't have any kids (yet), but I don't mind doing some baby sitting or watching out for the kids. I don't have any allergies and love pets!

As a true Norwegian I enjoy the outdoors in the snow with cross country skiing and snowboarding. It would be fun to get some more hands on experience with surfing with my background as a snowboarder.

I love board games and other game activities like pool, table tennis etc.

I have a big interest in sailing and would really like to learn the ropes to be able to help on deck and do some sailing!

Music taste is difficult to explain in words, but I have a love for 60's and 70's rock/pop/folk. The Beatles is hard to beat(les)!

This might be a cold shock for some, but I actually prefer my chocolate cold from the fridge :)
