Description

We are motivated by connecting with people, discovering new cultures and learning new skills together. Traveling as a couple has taught us to stay open-minded, curious and grateful, and we love experiencing everyday life in different countries instead of just passing through as tourists.

What brings us the most happiness is being outdoors, working with our hands, helping animals or trying new activities side by side. We enjoy the feeling of contributing to meaningful projects while learning from hosts and other Workawayers.
We are both positive, responsible and easygoing, and we love working as a team. Meeting new people, sharing meals, exchanging knowledge and becoming part of a temporary “family” is one of the main reasons why Workaway inspires us so much.

For us, happiness comes from simple things: good conversations, shared laughter, nature, animals, and the opportunity to grow through new experiences every single day

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both come from different backgrounds, but we share the same curiosity and motivation to learn from the world around us.
Merle has worked in cafés, hotels and housekeeping, has experience with gardening, vegetable farms and outdoor work, and used to care for a horse as a riding partner. She enjoys cooking, baking and creating a warm, friendly atmosphere wherever she goes.

Jonas is very practical and hands-on. He loves working outdoors, helping on farms, and learning new manual skills. He also enjoys fixing things — especially cars — and has experience with basic repairs, small maintenance tasks and mechanical problem-solving. He learns quickly and is always happy to help with anything that needs doing.

Together, we make a reliable and easygoing team. We speak German (native) and English, and we are happy to help anyone who wants to practice German with us. We enjoy sharing what we know, just as much as learning from others.

Many of our skills come from real-life experience:
painting walls, repairing small household problems, organizing spaces, taking care of pets, cooking meals for friends, helping neighbors, gardening, and supporting family with projects. We love animals — we have a dog and a cat at home — so caring for pets comes naturally to us.

We enjoy working with our hands, learning new routines, adapting to different environments and contributing wherever we’re needed. Even if we haven’t done something before, we approach new tasks with enthusiasm, patience and a positive attitude.

More than anything, we hope to bring kindness, energy and curiosity to the places we visit. Workaway is meaningful to us because it allows us to meet new people, be part of daily life in different cultures, and grow through every experience — while giving something back at the same time.
