Hi, nice that you found my profile!
I´m Malin, a 20-year-old girl from Germany.
Workaway asked to tell something about me and what brings me here, so let me give you a quick wrap up :)

There is this german word "Wanderlust" which basically means "strong desire to travel". It means to feel the urge to see the world and experience new things.
I was a child that barely experienced homesickness and this german word explains pretty well the feeling I´ve always felt instead.

When I was 7 years old, I found a box of shells in my grandparent’s cabinet. Big shells, in shapes and with patterns I´ve never seen before. My grandma explained to me that they are from New Zealand and my grandpa showed me the country on the world map in his old heavy atlas. I still remember how the little me couldn´t really wrap her mind around the fact that those shells are actually from the other side of the world. But after that I started to learn the different countries with my own little globe, that I got from my parents because I kept asking about countries and how you can get there.

I guess that´s how it started. After graduating high school in 2022 I packed my backpack and went to New Zealand on a working holiday visa. Travelling and gaining some experience in working and life before diving back into university and studies. 8 months, with the option to make it one or maybe two more. That was the plan. But to be honest, neither my family nor my friends were really surprised when I cancelled my flight back home.
Now my Visa for NZ ends in November, but I still don´t really feel like going home.
I decided that I want to see how far I can come and maybe tick off some more things of my bucket list.
A big dream of mine is to stay on a boat and learn sailing :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Due to previous jobs I bring experience in housekeeping, customer service and a a bit in bar work.
I always love a good DIY projekt. During my time in New Zealand I converted my Car to a little mini van and helped building a tini house.
Also helped on farms and did some gardening/general helping arround house and property.

Since I was a little girl, horses have been my passion. I trained mainly dressage and some showjumping from a young age on and I´m also really interested in training methods that focus specifically on natrual horsemanship.
In general I am good with animals.

In the past years I did a lot of volunteer work with children and young people in the local youth work back in my hometown (organizing events, summer camps and parties, leading weekly groups...all the fun stuff :)), so I am happy to take care of kids of any age.

and beside that:
I´m up for all kinds of work, open to learn new things and I always enjoy funny moments, interesting talks and a good be together :)

  I've been a vegetarian for several years now and so far i am trying to keep that even when i am travelling. but I don't mind other people eating meat arround me. Also happy to cook veggi with/for you!
