Hi there🧡 My name is Lotta and I'm 19 years old soon. When I am not traveling, I live with in Finland with my family. I have recently graduated and am now doing my gap year. I am looking forward to grow, explore new cultures and to get out of my comfort zone.

I'm a big animal person. I have grown up around animals and are used to having them in my daily life. Some of my main interests are tennis, horse riding and creativity/arts. But I am a person that really does enjoy a lot of stuff, like other sports (for example volleyboll, running, bicycling) but also connecting with animals and people, taking photos, being with with kids, doing small projects in groups and m.m

Me and my friend Saara are now traveling together. Right now we are located in South Portugal. Workaway that we have done is refitting on a steel sailingboat and currently on a horse farm.

For me Workaway is a great opportunity for my self-improvement, new adventures, meeting new people and seeing different aspects of life.

I hope to meet other travelers, experience different ways of life and have an unforgettable gap year. I’m especially interested in learning new languages — French is at the top of my list — and I’m excited by the idea of trying new things every day, even if they challenge me.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve gained a lot of experience through everyday life on our country home property, and I’m confident to adapt wherever I’m needed.

Animal care is one of my biggest strengths. I’ve grown up around animals and love being around them. We currently have a dog, a cat, and some sheep, and in the past, we've also had horses, cows, bunnies, and chickens. I'm comfortable feeding, grooming, cleaning, and spending time with animals, especially horses — horse riding is a big passion of mine, and I’d love to gain more experience working with them abroad.

Gardening and physical work are also things I am used to. I’m not afraid of hard work and find it really satisfying to see progress in a garden or outdoor space.
When it comes to household tasks, I genuinely enjoy cleaning and organizing — I find it calming and rewarding. I’m also happy to help in the kitchen or with whatever needs doing around the house.

I’m also great with children and feel a natural connection with them. I’ve always found it easy to communicate and play with kids, and I’m patient, responsible, and caring. I once worked a short time at a daycare center, and I got along with the kids more than well.

Recently I have learnt how to refit some things on an old steel sailingboat, like removing paint, grinding and drilling. Then also how to clean before putting paint on and so on. It was a great experience for me!

In general, I’m a fast learner, open-minded, and always up for trying new things — especially if it means learning new skills or being useful to others.

I’m a really good listener and love deep conversations. I find peace in simple moments, like walking in nature, sharing a quiet meal, or just being present with people.
I enjoy staying active like swimming, cycling, tennis, and running are all activities that I enjoy, and I’m always open to learning something new.
I also like painting, drawing, and playing a bit of piano. I’m not super consistent, but I love how those moments let me express myself.

One of the biggest reasons I’m drawn to travel is that I haven’t yet found my “thing” — that passion or purpose that really clicks. I hope that by meeting people, exchanging ideas, and living a bit outside my comfort zone, I’ll get closer to discovering what that might be.
