Hoi, I'm Lot, I'm 19 years old and I'm from the Netherlands :)

Thanks for taking a look at my profile.

When I’m not traveling I’m working full time in the Netherlands and trying to make plans for my next travel. I work as a personal assistant in winter time and in a restaurant. In summer time I'm a full-time windsurf instructor in the Netherlands. I landed at Workaway almost two years ago when I dropped out of my bachelor's program, I was studying at a college in the Netherlands and found out that it didn't suit me and it did not fit with my ideas and plans for my future. I then started traveling everywhere and working in all the places I went. I now have a lot of experience with working abroad, especially in hostels. In the last year, I worked at many different places and learned so many new things. And yet there is still so much to learn and discover. My two major travels consisted out of three months of volunteering in Barcelona, as the staff of a party hostel. There I cooked, cleaned, organized activities and city tours, and did overall jobs around the hostel. And 2 months of volunteering in Tenerife as staff of a hostel again.

I have a lot of goals in my life and a lot of things I want to accomplish and one of the most important goals is working on personal growth. I would like to learn how to work in many sectors. Widening my network and gaining experience. Besides that, I’m busy meeting new people every single day and learning everything about them and their cultures. I’m super eager to learn new languages and hope to make way more new friends and work while doing this all.

I can work hard, I can get along and connect deeply to others with ease, and I am a fast learner and open to feedback and improvements. I am motivated, spontaneous, and I am eager to learn, proactive, and broadly employable.

I am a real people person and will always seek out the crowds. I prefer to do everything together with others as much as possible, but I am also good at being on my own and getting things done on my own. Besides work and studying, I have many things that keep me busy daily and give me joy. I love to cook and can do it well if I say so myself. I have a lot of experience cooking for large groups. I also have a lot of experience in cleaning and maintaining accommodations and have a HACCP certificate for this. I can often also be found in the garden, love skateboarding, and being creative (such as painting, sculpting, woodworking, and building) and my great passion is windsurfing. I like to share my skills and therefore give windsurfing lessons in the summer, I have an official instructor certificate for that as well.

I'm a vegetarian (I do eat fish if necessary, but I'm certainly not critical. I don't bother with food that has been cooked together in a pan whatsoever.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience as an employee at my own windsurfing club, where I teach windsurfing lessons (I have an official instructor's certificate for this), maintain the boards, make sure the store and rentals are looking good, connect with customers, and make sure the experience is fun. In the summer I am a staff at children's camps, which gives me a lot of experience with cooking for large groups and dealing with allergies and diets, cleaning and maintaining accommodations (for this I have a HACCP certificate), entertaining the children, organizing sporting activities and giving surfing lessons.
I have also worked in a store, having to stand behind the reception desk and cash register.
Also, I can offer myself in, creative tasks, such as painting. I speak good English and have studied in English, I could also teach in this. I have a lot of plant knowledge and am very good with children and animals. I could also help in maintaining or setting up a website, I have social media skills.
