We’re Laura and Paul, a French couple (29 and 30 years old) currently traveling across New Zealand in our van, excited to discover this amazing country, its culture, its people… and of course, its waves—we’re both big surf lovers! 🏄

Laura is an HR professional and Social worker with a strong passion for dance 💃(16 years) and would love to share it with others. She also enjoys spending time with children (she absolutely adores her nephew!) and is happy to help with care when needed. I love Yoga and pilates in my routine sonI can share too 🧘

Paul is an engineer who loves all kinds of sports, especially rugby🏃🏈—he played for 10 years and would love to join a local club to connect and play friendly matches. He’s also happy to give tutoring in math, physics, or more advanced engineering topics like thermodynamics and fluid mechanics… or just have deep conversations about the universe !

We’re both motivated to help with cleaning, cooking, reception actually to contribute in any way we can! 💪🤝

WorkAway is for us a way to meet great people, get involved in local life, and experience the richness of Kiwi culture. We’re positive, adaptable, and always bring good energy wherever we go.

Paul (30, Engineer):
• DIY & Maintenance: Comfortable with basic home repairs, painting, cleaning, and general upkeep.
• Gardening & Farming: Beginner level but very motivated to learn more about gardening, landscaping, and agriculture.
• Teaching & Tutoring: Can offer lessons in math, physics, French, and advanced engineering topics such as fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
• Mechanical & Electrical Work: Basic knowledge of car mechanics and electricity—keen to improve and assist in these areas.
• Hospitality & Customer Service: Past experience as a waiter and host, able to assist in hotels, cafés, or restaurants.
• Social & Care Work: Worked as a support activity leader during an adapted vacation stay for people with disabilities—empathetic, patient, and engaged.

Laura (29, Social Worker & Educator):
• Teaching & Coaching: Can teach dance (16+ years experience), yoga, and French.
• Childcare & Animal Care: Loves working with children (especially her nephew!) and is happy to care for animals.
• Housekeeping & Cooking: Experienced in household management, cleaning, and cooking.
• Gardening & Agriculture: Has worked in fruit and vegetable harvesting, sorting, labeling, packing, and general farm labor.
• Hospitality & Retail: Worked as a sales assistant, hostess, and waitress—very comfortable in customer-facing roles.
• Disability Support: Professionally trained special needs educator, experienced in supporting people with a wide range of disabilities.
• Quality Assurance: Experience as a quality assistant in the food industry.
