Hi! I’m Lola, I’m French, 22 years old, and I really want to discover the world. My motto? Dare, dream, live. I like to see life as a big adventure, full of new things and discoveries. We only live once, so why not enjoy it as much as possible?

This year, I’m lucky to make many projects real because I’m doing a gap year during my engineering studies in agronomy and food science. To say it simply, I like to call myself a future life engineer — I love plants, animals, and all kinds of life around us. I enjoy learning more about them every day.

The goal of my gap year is to travel and open my mind. Right now, I’m doing a train trip around Europe with my mother. After that, I’ll start the big crossing of the Alps on foot… with my tent! An adventure I hope will bring me great memories and nice meetings.

I also really want to discover Asia. That’s why I signed up on Workaway. Two countries fascinate me: Japan and Nepal. Their culture, history, and beautiful nature inspire me a lot. I plan to visit them between November and March, starting in Japan and finishing in Nepal.

In life, I love to try new things, which gave me many passions. I do sewing (I make part of my own clothes), sports (trail running, cycling, skiing…), I joined public speaking competitions, I was president of a student association, I study animal behavior, I like gardening, drawing, and painting. Nature gives me energy. Nothing makes me happier than being in the mountains, breathing fresh air, and feeling connected to all living things.

I’m also interested in working as a filmmaker or documentarist. That’s why I love video. Right now, I’m making a documentary about the lifestyle of my grandparents, and I also want to film my adventures this year. With this experience, I could also help you show your daily life or your projects, if you want :)

I’ve always lived in shared houses. I’m a very social person, and I really believe everyone has something to share and to teach. Sharing is a beautiful way to live!

With this account, I hope to live amazing experiences and meet great people. Maybe we will meet during my trip… I’d be happy to meet you and share some good moments together !

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

science, especially biology. I am passionate about all forms of life, and I have been studying this subject for several years. Today, I have four years of university studies in this field.

I have been gardening for many years, so I have good knowledge about plants. I also know a lot about animals. I have learned how to communicate with them through animal behavior studies, which I’ve been doing for over 10 years.

I was also the president of a student association with 21 members, which worked like a small business. Thanks to this, I developed many skills in management, planning, budgeting, strategy, and organization. All very useful in the professional. I also had professional experiences where I worked with people with physical or mental disabilities. These moments were very rich and important for me !

I have always loved working with my hands. I sew my own clothes, I work in the garden, and I enjoy helping with any kind of manual tasks. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty ! I am very independent and organized. I like to have clear tasks and do them as well as possible.

I also studied in a very intense school program for two years, called “classe préparatoire,” where we studied biology, maths, and physics. We worked more than 80 hours a week to prepare for competitive exams to enter engineering schools. This experience taught me discipline, hard work, and how to stay focused under pressure.

Socially, I love speaking with people, discovering new places, and meeting others. I adapt easily, I’m very motivated and positive ! ;) I travel alone and I’m not afraid. I take every situation as a chance to grow, learn, or simply enjoy life. I love living fully and discovering what the world has to offer!

I would just add that I have a big desire to learn and I really want to discover everything that comes my way, and everything you might want to share with me. I enjoy working and I hope I can bring something useful to you.
