We particularly enjoy being by the coast as we are snorkellers and have a kayak with us. We enjoy exploring by foot and on our bicycles and generally being active outdoors.

Description
We are an experienced Workaway couple travelling in our Motorhome.
We are leaving the UK at the beginning of December and are heading to the Turkish coast. We will possibly use ferries to cut down on the driving but our route isn’t set yet as there are many options. Greece is our favourite destination and we will definitely be passing through on our way.
We need to be back in the UK for early March
We are mainly travelling and exploring for pleasure but we like to add a bit of work into the mix to meet people and have new experiences.
Richard is a builder, mechanic and problem solver, having renovated many houses to a high standard often single handedly he can turn his hand to anything practical. His specialisms are tree work and stonework but he has a great ability to focus on the next best step in a project, his advice once given is then sought after. He is a maker and mender and always has an eye on the budget, if there is an inexpensive way to do something he will find it.
Lindsay is a craft practitioner but is able to scale it up to building projects under Richards wing, having recently become a proficient pointer. As well as being a useful labourer she can come up with creative ideas and specialises in decorating. She is a reasonable gardner, has cleaned professionally and loves decluttering or clearing out.
We like to work together and particularly enjoy outdoor jobs.
We would be unlikely to stay for more than a week anywhere unless the job is more relaxed like housesitting or caretaking.
We don’t need accommodation as we prefer to stay in our Motorhome but it does need to be considered where we would be able to park up. Somewhere quiet and flat are two major requirements.

Between us we have lots of skills and are generally practical and good at problem solving.
Richard has multiple building skills including, stonework, plastering, joinery and plumbing. He has farmed and knows how to look after livestock, fence, drive diggers and tractors as well as doing tree work.
Lindsay has creative skills and is a proficient decorator. She has run a small holding and is a basic gardener.
She has run holiday cottages as well as cleaning them and particularly enjoys decluttering, sorting and clearing out.

Richard's tree felling skills were put to the test taking down 3 full size Eucalyptus trees .Cutting brambles in the way of a ditch had all of us working together. We came to Oriana through unusual circumstances but it was a lucky break for us. She enjoys helping people and we had a good exchange. We enjoyed the help which suited our skills and in return we learnt a lot about Portugal and went on our way well fed, with mended clothes and mechanical parts fixed.

We had a great time at the school in Bordeiro. Claire, Luis and Iryna were, friendly, fun and enthusiastic. We enjoyed staying in the village, doing the tasks and socialising. It is a place we would happily return too. All the best for the future with your projects and more eggs!

So glad to have met Lindsay and Richard. Although they were only with us for a few days they achieved an amazing amount of work to a very high standard. I'm sure that we offered them jobs well below their skill level but they were completed cheerfully. We wish them well on their touring adventure around Europe.

We only spent a few days with Geoff and Elaine but were very well looked after. They made us feel at home, fed us well and helped with suggestions about exploring the area. We got to meet some of their Spanish friends and neighbours and enjoyed walking Seb.

Pal was our travel guide throughout Italy, before we even arrived at his place. We have been very grateful for all his local knowledge.

Lindsay and Richard stayed at my place for most of march.... They were hard working, friendly , knowledgable and were not afraid to get their hands dirty :-)
They turned their hands to anything that was needed and worked physically very hard clearing a wood next to the house....

Beyond our wildest dreams! Amazingly useful, knowledgeable, hardworking and also delightful company. Rich had loads of useful tools and taught us how to move heavy rocks among many other things and Lindsay made some beautiful books with the children. Very sorry to see them leave.

This was our first Workaway which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was what we would imagine a good experience to be as we felt very well looked after in exchange for some pleasant work.
We had good conversation with Christel and Peter and learnt about their way of living.
We recommend these hosts, who we felt went beyond what would be expected.
