Animal care, welfare and rights and New Adventures

Description

Hi, I am a mature woman from New Zealand with experience in Animal welfare, organic gardening, administration, tourist driving, retail, factory work; a wide range of things. I am easy going by nature, but conscientious -- if I say I will do a task, I will. I show initiative, am a good communicator, and pride myself on being flexible and adaptable to support the needs of all involved in a project if I can. I am fit and capable and have a ‘can do’ attitude and enjoy a challenge. I am sensitive to the needs of people and all beings around me.
I love adventures in other countries, meeting new people and supporting those particularly caring for rescued animals. I have worked with animals and people for the SPCA, the Humane Society and volunteered in programs and shelters in India, Bulgaria, Croatia, Moldova, Pacific Islands and Vietnam, and Sri Lanka. I was assistant to an English teacher last year in Sri Lanka. I also have and enjoy working in gardens, all kinds of property projects and supporting people in their homes and in daily life. I live a simple life in a small basic home in a relatively remote part of rural New Zealand. I love nature, particularly the sea, swimming, kayaking, walking, reading, writing and gardening. I do not need entertaining, yet enjoy some shared time working together and conversation. I prefer to be accommodated in a private, self contained space where I am happy for the most part to purchase and make my own meals and have some time to myself in the evenings.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a range skills from practical hands on animal care skills, gardening, driving, cleaning through to managing the daily work flow, logistics and supervising others. I've worked in the responsible roles - Quality control in a dog management program and as the primary point of contact in helping resolve animal welfare issues in rural small town New Zealand. I have also facilitated job seekers courses. I enjoy researching and writing particularly about animal welfare and social justice issues. I have the communication, people and computer skills required to work with others but I'm just as happy mucking out and getting on with things unsupervised.
