Description
Hi there! I'm Liam. Back in my home of Nova Scotia, Canada, I'm a classically-trained pianist and composer.
Currently I'm travelling New Zealand to immerse myself in the natural landscapes the country has to offer; though the Maritimes are beautiful in their own way, the diversity and drama of NZ is in a class of its own. I've been in the country for about two months and the people here have been nothing but welcoming and friendly.
As an artist, I tend to focus on environmental themes, and my goal as an artist is to prompt discussion and change in that space. I am currently working on multiple projects that highlight different natural habitats and how humans are interfering with them.
Before travelling to New Zealand I have worked as a teacher, guide, and program administrator. I have also travelled to Europe, most recently to hike through the Scottish Highlands, and Costa Rica where I volunteered at Campanario Wildlife Reserve.

I would love to learn any language! German and Spanish are two that I will attempt to learn throughout my life, but I love learning and would be very happy learning anything.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I worked for several years as a piano teacher, both in private and group instruction. This has given me the skills to present technical concepts in an accessible and engaging way, as well as constantly adapt my teaching approach to suit various levels of experience. As part of a teaching studio I also have extensive experience coordinating logistics between many different families, as well as dealing with the public during studio performances and parents as they have questions regarding their children.
Along with this, I have experience coordinating programs and leading teams as a program administrator within Shad Canada. Through this job I have had to coordinate large groups of teenagers as well as oversee and advise junior staff members in their group positions.
In addition to these jobs, I have worked a variety of smaller jobs as a bartender, guide, curriculum developer, and band manager. In particular I have managed myself as an independent peforming musician, coordinating many performance and songwriting gigs.
I am an excellent team player, feeling most comfortable as a supportive part of a larger network; while this often manifests as my part as a bandmember and manager, this also applies to my other work.

Autres infos...
I do quite enjoy board and card games, often ones with more involved rulesets (Spirit Island is a particular favourite board game). This year I've also embarked on a mission to listen to a new album every day of the year, so if you have any recommendations (of literally any style or genre) they are more than welcome!
