Hi everyone! My name is Lorena, I am a Mexican- American born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA. I am currently living in Eastern Finland, studying a Masters program in Early Language Education and Culture. Traveling and exploring are a huge part of my life. I love to get to know other cultures, people, food, customs, religions, and overall just get different perspectives on any and every thing. Aside from traveling, I love reading, walking, nature, journaling, bike riding, and photography.

My job history is very diverse, with most of my experiences being in education. I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, and have taught at a nursery school in Chicago, English in high school/university in Brazil, nursery and elementary school in Spain, preschool and kindergarten in Egypt, elementary school in Hungary, lots of private tutoring(English and curriculum subjects), and I am currently working online as a reading specialist for elementary and middle school students. Aside from education, I have worked jobs in cleaning, retail, and customer service in Chicago. I am a very open and flexible person, with a bit of training I'm happy to try anything really.

I like to consider myself a very calm, friendly, and honest person who values open communication and genuine connections. This summer 2026, I have availability from the end of May until the end of August and I'm hope to fulfill my time with one (or more lol) workaways! I am open to trying anything, from teaching to hostel work, cleaning, pet sitting, gardening, anything really :)
