Hello world!
I'm Fede, an energetic Italian with a strong passion for the outdoors and looking for further Workaway adventures together after having had multiple positive experiences on my own :)
I found myself with a short gap between my studies and decided to invest this time in something that would allow me to travel and most importantly to learn something! I deeply believe in travelling in a meaningful way (let's say the opposite of tourism.. ) and being useful for something! And possibly, building a connection with my hosts, travel companions or anyone with whom our paths cross!

Here's something about me:

🏔️🌊🧗🍃I'm currently balancing a life between doing research in biology and a constant urge to be outdoor, my main interests are all related to contact with nature! Climbing, ski-touring, alpinism, camping are the highlights of my current life in the French alps, but I also have a life-long passion for the sea that I try to nurture in my free time! I've been spearfishing and freediving since I was a kid and I have a keen interest for marine life, which I also often found in my studies. I recently started getting more experience in sailing with experiences using FindACrew - king of the workaway equivalent for sailors :) My other interests involve playing the bass and being a bit of a nerd on some things like movies and music :)

🌺⛵🌾Besides boat-hitchhiking and working on a beach, I had three previous workaway experiences in which I always met amazing human beings and got the chance to learn something! All of them were based mostly on gardening, wood-cutting, maintenance, cleaning, taking care of animals, etc: from a remote resort in Canada to a family-run palm garden in Aruba, working with my hands has always soothed my spirit. Quite simply, my next objective is to do the same and learn something new, while possibly being exposed to new cultures and ways of living :)

🌶️🥦🐟Last but not least, I really enjoy cooking and eating healthy. Being a longtime fisherman, I especially enjoy cooking fresh fish!

After my studies brought me around Europe, I found my home for a while in Grenoble, France, where I will soon start my PhD!
