Hello! My name is Leona, I am 26 years old and I’m a teacher at a secondary school teaching German and English. I love teaching but I have so many more hobbies and interests that I want to invest some time into also regarding my personal and professional growth. So I have decided to take some time off before taking on a permanent role to explore those interests while travelling, meeting new people, and experiencing other cultures. I have had great experiences with other Workaway opportunities before, so I am really looking forward to the upcoming time.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve worked at different schools and have done some private tutoring, so I definitely know about working in stressful environments (:D). My previous experiences abroad, taught me a lot about working in international and large teams in a communal setting.

I love working with children and am excited to become a teacher but one of my other interests is animals. Growing up, my family always had pets so I know how beautiful but also time-consuming and exhausting working and living with animals can be. Nevertheless, I love caring for them whether one has to cuddle, play with, or be there for them when they get sick. I have also volunteered in animal shelters in several countries with dogs, cats, sheep, goats, pigs, … which was simply amazing. There, I’ve also done some basic repair work, helped with weeding, harvesting, batch cooking, …
