We are a little family settled down in Barcelona with two girls aged 12 and 9. We feel like travelling, working, getting to know, discovering, sharing, altogether as a whole family. In 2022 we spent four months in Canada taking part in three projects of Workaway with families and it was top. We learnt and share so much and we had a great time there. This summer we would like to take part again in some other projects of Workaway as a family, let's see!

I'm Sílvia. I was born in Barcelona, studied in Wales and worked in France. I enjoy myself doing crafts and sewing. I love going on my bike, dance and take pictures. My parents come from the countryside so I am used to see different chores that take place in villages: feeding the animals, watering the garden, making firewood.... even harvesting olives to make oil and preparing marmalades. The experience of workaway in Canada was great to increase my experience with gardening and taking care of the animals: taking care of the horses (feeding and cleaning), planting and harvesting potatoes, removing weeds, collecting the cow's milk and even butchering 30 chikens!

I'm Nicolas. I'm french, from the French Brittany. I'm living in Barcelona since 20 years, with Sílvia and now Juliette and Lisa. I've travelled and worked abroad on a number of occasions (Birmingham 1.5 months, Cork 2.5 months, Málaga 6 months, and working for a UK company during 3.5 years). I'm very interested in meeting people from other countries, environments and cultures, and I think that the Workaway way is great for that! I love a lot of things related to science and DIY crafts. I have a good bunch of hobbys, from planted aquariums to cider homebrewing and Lego Technics buildings.

And the two girls Juliette and Lisa are very adaptable and easy-going. They love animals and countryside, painting, playing, going by bike and plenty of things!

We are a nice, simple and open-minded family. We are very adaptable and not afraid of hard-work. We do appreciate very much this kind of experience and learning through it. We hope to share nice experiences together!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Sílvia:
I am a psychologist and I have experience in the fields of social sector and human resources. I've worked with many kind of collectives: kids, long term unemployed, people with difficulties, etc. I also have experience as a trainer and I took part in several international projects.
I also have experience as a Spanish, Catalan and English teacher.
I am a very empathetic person ,curious and adventurer.

Nicolas:
I've worked in different positions until now, and I would like to think that I'm adaptable and autonomous. I have technical knowledge in printing and editing industries, also oriented to customer service. I'm currently doing software development.
I've been raised in the countryside, and near the sea, and I'm not afraid of and perfectly able to do outdoors or agricultural work, working with animals, general maintenance or even building work with proper indications.
