  • Description

Hi! I'm Laura. I'm a hard-working chef at a country club in the United States. My colleagues would agree and tell you that I'm also upbeat, adaptable and silly!
I love my job. I have full creative freedom and I love using my hands to create edible art for people to enjoy. I also really like to be a part of a team! Sharing my experience with others as well as learning from them. Learning as I go.. tasting as I go.. is the way I like to go through my life. I'm a dreamer with a big imagination. Living new experiences are a big motivator for me. I want to make the most of this life that I can!

I've moved around the U.S. a good amount
-usually seeking beautiful nature, new experiences, sunshine and anywhere that there are significant bodies of water! (Though I did live in the desert for many years. Haha. I like to mix it up! )
I love all water activities! Swim, snorkel, kayak, canoe, boat, float, sunrises, sunsets, painting, watching, wading around. Especially oceans!

Everywhere I've lived, I have volunteered! It's a staple in my spiritual and social life. It's a hobby.
I never knew that it could facilitate more affordable and educational travel!
Coming across this site has stimulated my imagination beyond belief! I love travel. I dream of traveling day and night. I'm always wanting to explore new places, experiences, people and cultures. I'm always hoping to grow in all ways -Spiritually, educationally, emotionally and creatively.
    Open my mind! 🙏

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've always been interested in tourism and hospitality! I've lived and worked in some of the bigger tourism markets in the United States. And that's where I am most experienced. Especially in hospitality! I've worked every possible position in restaurants and clubs over the years. And I've learned that every position is an equally important part of the team! Ever since youth sports I've loved being a part of a team!
My biggest talents lie in the kitchen. I'm experienced in all positions and I've have worked my way up. And learned my way up over the years in the preparation and execution of any menu items, soups , sauces, sides or displays . I currently enjoy menu development, coaching in execution, encouraging enthusiasm and pride, sanitation and I'm happy to fill any holes that need to be.
Most recently, the Club I work at had a huge void at desserts, so I excitedly volunteered because it was another opportunity for me to learn more!! I'm still surprised to announce myself as a pastry chef. In fact, my soups and desserts are consistently selling out and our club members always lavish praise on me for my creations.
I love trying and learning new things! And I continue to improve!
There are so many cultures and cuisines around the world! After all of these years, I feel I've only begun to scratch the surface of what this art offers to our world!
I want to see more, taste more, be more...

The importance of service is huge for me in my career, but also in my personal life! Again a huge part of my own spiritual, social and cultural growth! The volunteer positions I've held have varied quite a bit.

    Experience includes the following ...
*Animal shelters - dog walking, feeding, cleaning cages and or cleaning the animals.
*Fundraising - working for different communities as well as organizing my own.
*Homelessness - providing and recruiting donations, sorting donations, distributions, cooking, cleaning, even designing and coloring spiritually uplifting meal cards that are distributed to our hungry fellows at all of their daily meals and recruiting others to help do the same.
Current position *Hospice of the Western Reserve. - recent assignments includes home cat care for a patient who cannot completely care for her only two companions, her cats.
Stringently trained in client facing, companion visits, Hands-On care, feeding, cleaning and sanitation. Future training will include end-of-life doula.
    *First aid and CPR certified.
    * Currently facilitating a self / spiritual help group for troubled and or displaced women. ( Coming up on 10 years of service!) My all time favorite and most rewarding service position!!!!!

I was raised to serve and respect others, the environment around me and nature.
I pick up trash when I see it on the beach or on the trail! I am filled with gratitude from the majesty of it all. I always try to share my enthusiasm for service and gratitude with others. I hope I always will!
May I share it with you.....🙏💜
