Searching for "house and pet sitting" oportunities during summer. We could take care of dogs, cats, birds, chicken, rabbits, turtles... And prefer rural, calm and natural areas in Spain and Portugal!

Hello everybody:
We are a Spanish mature couple, named Laura (43) and Jorge (61). We both are from Madrid but, after living in several places in Spain, we have settled in Jaraíz de la Vera, a small village situated in Extremadura (north of Cáceres province). Jaraíz is the main village of “La Vera”, a beautiful valley in the south of “Gredos mountains”. The area is full of rivers and a lot of natural bath spots, cherry trees and red peppers, used to elaborate paprika (“pimentón de la Vera” is very famous in Spain).
Laura is a Spanish teacher and Jorge is dedicated to artistic activities and works in our country state.
We decided establish ourselves in a rural area because we prefer a more calm life, as far from the stress of the city as possible!
We love being in contact with nature, animals and enjoy a lot reading, seeing a beautiful landscape or doing activities in nature (walking, hiking, swimming in remote beaches, growing a garden).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are Jorge and Laura, a Spanish mature couple now living in Extremadura (Spain). We both were born in Madrid, but always have been searching for a quiet place to live in contact with nature.
During the school year (from September to June) I am (Laura!) a Spanish teacher at a public Adult Education Centre. I teach spanish to foreign people, and language and maths too. Some time ago I started to be interested in agriculture, rancing, permaculture...activities related with nature.
I´m an activ person, always thinking in new things to do and new skills to learn. I studied "teaching" at University and have been working as a teacher in public centres in Spain since 2007.
Jorge studied Arts and administrative assistant too at Madrid. He has developed different works: he has been administrative, guard, artist and now he´s becoming a farmer!
He has good skills in artistic activities. He loves philosophy, history, mountain scenaries, is a very creative person and loves reading!
We have a new proyect in our own country state: we have started a small and experimental vegetable garden and desiring having chickens and some sheeps in the future.
We both are sensitive persons and loves being at nature, seeing beautiful lanscapes, making activities outdoors (hiking, swimming in a river or a remote beach!, going for a walk), being with animals.
We love calm places!
And we can travel with our own car.

We are searching for house and/or pet sitting opportunities in Spain and Portugal (are available during the summer and on Spanish school holidays).
We haven´t children.
We have some experience with animals. Now living with "Misuri", a cat that "adopted us" four years ago and is "the queen of the house". She was a cat from Jaraíz´s streets, is a sensitive, sweet, very talkative and relaxing animal (during our holidays Laura´s mother takes care of Misuri).
Too we have had the chance of living with an incredible female dog called "Noa" since 2007 to 2020 when we had to say a very difficult and sad goodbye.
In the near future we want to have chickens and sheeps too!
At present we take care of our family´s pets during their holidays (Toby: Laura´s mother Shih Tzu and Timón: Laura´s brother energic Pointer).
Both Jorge and Laura feel very confortable with animals: we love all of them! (dogs, cats, sheeps, horses, birds, chickens....). We are patient, sensitive and try to create a calm atmosphere.
