Laura:
Hola Hola,
I'm Laura and I'm 19 years old. I recently graduated and now I want to travel the world and gain work experience. I love getting to know different cultures and people, especially because I am half Peruvian. I was raised bilingual and therefore speak German, Spanish and English very well. I would love to expand my language skills and thus I would be happy to learn new languages.In my free time, I also like to read and educate myself in various subject areas, whether they are related or not. I especially like to philosophize with my friends and also regularly campaign for social justice, including at demos such as CSD, Friday for Futures and Demo for Democracy. Accordingly, I would be happy if our host shares the same values.
I would describe myself as a calm, collected, yet confident person who is still looking for the adrenaline rush in life. Gathering knowledge is my greatest passion and I always like to learn something new.
About my work experience: Since I was 15, I have been working during the holidays. Additionly to school, I worked in an amusement park for children and can therefore deal well with them. Before that, I have worked in a bakery and I'm used to work with people.
In the meantime, I have also gained a lot of new experience in Denmark and Portugal. This includes paving, planting seeds, but also cleaning etc., so pretty much everything around the house and in the garden. Even hard work doesn't put me off at all, whether it's renovating or building.

Hello!
I'm Hannah, a 20 year old trying to see as much of the world as possible 🌎
I'm lucky to be able to share that passion with my amazing girlfriend Laura. We met at school and been a couple for almost two years now. 🫶🏻🏳️‍🌈 I grew up on a small Farm in a tiny bavarian village.
I graduated from the Realschule (Secondary School in Germany) in 2021 where I decided to focus on Arts so I could write and paint my final exams in that subject as well 🎨😊
After that I continued at the Gymnasium (Secondary Modern School that makes it possible for you to study at a Univeristy) and successfully graduated in July 2024!
Since then, I've been to Portugal and Thailand together with Laura and another friend of ours. We made so many amazing memories and friends, volunteered at different places and also survived some chaotic situations along the way. 🗺️
When I was younger, I took every opportunity that I got to travel. I began to join the group trips of a local youth organization. With them, I went to the Concentration Camps in Ausschwitz, Poland.
Moreover, we sailed the Ijsselmeer in the Netherlands (starting in Enkhuizen, ending in Vlieland, with stops at around 6 ports) ⛵ eating cold pasta and bread all day - had an absolutely amazing time there!!
We also went to Taizé, France twice and even though I am not religious I enyojed just forming deep connections with people from all over the world while watching stunning sunsets in the french countryside 🌄
I had a few City Trips that I enjoyed as much as the Trips mentioned before. Form London to Berlin, Weimar, Bratislava and Lisbon 🏙️
Since I started my Gap Year I've already been to Portugal (many places in the Algarve, Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra) - from diving in the sea while sleeping in a Caravan between Orange Trees to hiking in the Serra da Estrela Nature Park 🍊
After that, we spent a few months Backpacking Thailand 🌃 my favourite place was definitely Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand) but as much as I loved the cities and towns, I was very happy when we finally traveled the South and were able to swim and dive 🤿 One of the best travel memories will forever be sitting on the loading area of a Truck driving through the streets of Chon Buri celebrating Songkran with a Local Friend 🔫🫶🏻
Moreover, I love learning languages and my passion for art has always been a huge part of me
Furthermore, I enjoy reading (mostly Fantasy) and watching good movies and series (also mostly Fantasy). My all time favourite is James Cameron's "Avatar".
In my youth, I used to play Basketball and Football

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Laura:
I finally have the time to travel after passing my A-Levels, that's why patience is one of my strengths. But that's not the only one. I am both independent and quick to learn new things. However, there are many skills that I have already mastered :) Among other things, I have experience from working in a bakery and thus in dealing with people of all kinds as well as in an art gallery, where I was able to use my computer knowledge to compile data. In keeping with the theme, I also enjoy creativity and love to draw in my spare time with my cat beside me. I am an animal lover and also get on well with children, as I worked in a regional theme park alongside school. After I graduated I worked in a factory where I gained new impressions and skills. After we have been in Thailand I worked at DHL for 5 month. I delivered packages and mail. The job was very physical but it was a lot of fun. The customers were always kind to me and also gossiped a lot with me.

So I already have a lot of experience in different areas and I am always willing to teach myself new things or be taught new things :)

Hannah:
My first ever job was as a waitress at a local bavarian Restaurant that also included a guest house. I've worked there for almost 2 years during my time at school. There, I served the guests, prepared for breakfast (sometimes at 3 in the morning 😂) lunch and dinner. We also hosted parties, official meetings (for example for local politicans) balls and weddings with up to 200 people.
In summer, we had barbecues in the beer garden.
Because of that, I can definitely help with planning events or parties, preparing functions, decorating, cleaning or entertaining and serving guests. 😊

When I was younger I volunteered at a Old People's Home because as you may notice, I always enyojed socializing! 🫂

After school I started saving up for my gap year and worked at a Advent Calendar Factory during summer 🤭🎄 where I filled sweets and chocolate into the right molds and folded the paper Gingerbread houses! From time to time, I worked at the machines as well.

During our time in Portugal, we stayed at an old couple's place near Silves, Algarve. We helped them with cleaning, preparing their old Bar for a Party, working in the garden and their small orange plantation 🍊 Furthermore, they just got Chicken which we took care of from Day 1 one on. 🐣 We prepared the land before they arrived, cleaned the hutch and fed them. Sometimes they would run after us wanting to get petted! ♥️
I love working and living with animals of all kinds. I grew up pretty much at my grandma's place and she used to have a small farm with chicken, cats, dogs and rabbits. 🐾
At another Host's place we cleaned out an old house for it to be ready to be rented out again, sanding and painting fences and furniture, weeding and even paving the side of the road which I enjoyed so much doing! 🔨
Moreover, I like learning new languages (I speak Germany, English and Spanish) and painting Portraits or playing theatre - So I'm always in when it comes to creative Tasks 🎨

Most recently, I was a full-time postman and worked for DHL (Deutsche Post Group)
So I delivered packages - sometimes up to 140 a day - and mail to the people 📬
Interacting with them was one of my favourite parts and I got many small gifts such as sweets and chocolate throughout the day (and also got to pet some cats and dogs! ...or run from them)
