Hi! My name is Lara and I’m 22 years old. I would describe myself as an adventurous and easygoing person who loves traveling and discovering new cultures. I’ve always been fascinated by exploring the world, visiting new places, and connecting with people from different backgrounds.

I’m currently studying to become a primary school teacher, with English as one of my subjects. As part of my studies, I need to spend three months abroad to improve my English skills and immerse myself in the culture of the country. For me, traveling is not just about seeing new places—it’s about truly experiencing them, getting to know the people, their traditions, and their way of life.

One of my most exciting experiences so far was working with children on a cruise ship for three months. It taught me to be flexible, adapt quickly to new situations, and embrace challenges with an open mind. It was an unforgettable time that reinforced my passion for working with people and being part of an international environment.

In my free time, I love reading, dancing, baking, and cooking. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and am always up for new experiences—whether it’s a spontaneous trip, trying out a new recipe, or simply having a great time together.

I’m excited to meet inspiring people, and gain valuable experiences while contributing in a meaningful way. I’m motivated to get involved and bring my positive and open-minded attitude to any project I’m part of!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am currently in my 6th semester of studying primary education.

I have strong social and organizational skills, especially when it comes to working with children. I spent three months working in childcare on a cruise ship, led a children’s gymnastics group for three years, and completed a voluntary social year at a primary school. For the past year, I have also been tutoring. These experiences have taught me to be patient, flexible, and creative in supporting children’s development.

Alongside my studies, I have been working as a waitress for over five years, which has helped me develop the ability to stay calm under pressure, work efficiently, and always maintain a friendly attitude.

I speak fluent German and English and enjoy helping others improve their language skills—whether through conversation or structured learning.

I’m excited to bring my skills into my Workaway experience, take on new challenges, and learn as much as possible along the way!
