Hello! My name is Kirsty and I am a 37yo female from Perth, Western Australia but have spent the past 6yrs living on the East Coast, in Victoria.

- - - Why Workaway? - - -
I am hoping to experience the unexpected. It feels like we put so much emphasis on day-jobs and not enough on learning about who we are, what makes us happy and how we can contribute to giving back to the world and to others. I have been on a journey of soul-searching and self-discovery the past few years and in the process of rebuilding everything I thought I was and already knew. My desire is to immerse myself in other cultures and ways of life, discover new traditions and open myself up to opportunities, wherever they may lead.

Ideally, I am seeking connection and a sense of community. I’d love to make a bunch of new friends and family all around the world, share knowledge, stories and conversation and learn something interesting from all of them. It is my strong belief that we meet people at specific times for a reason – “when the student is ready, the teacher appears”. Everyone has their own story to share and something special to offer. I would really love the opportunity to experience daily life differently. We can get so caught up at times, doing things in the same way we have grown up doing them and never really experiencing the world from other perspectives.
I would really love the chance to make the World (or even just someone's world) just that little bit better.

The girl with the ever-changing hair. The storyteller with a passion for writing and photography. Trying to look for the beauty in everything. The more I experience, the more I can draw from. I thrive when I have purpose and I’m on a personal mission to ‘Find My Joy’. My wish is to inspire others to do the same along the way.

Interested in health, wellness and wholesome activities that encourage mindfulness and creativity.

Love plants and flowers and adore animals. I have a great respect for them - all animals. I have experience with a variety of domestic animals (and a little with some of the exotic kind thanks to working at a Zoo- one of the ethical ones that supports wildlife and environmental conservation) but I have always planned to have more to do with farm animals (and any other native fauna inhabitants of the area). I would love to make more of a conscious effort to spend time in and connect with nature and the outdoors.
Also secretly hoping to gradually become an avid hiker!

Enjoy little projects or craft activities that incorporate resourceful ways to reuse items and reduce waste by giving them a new life.

Pride myself as being a genuine, honest and considerate person with a huge focus on empathy and communication. BIG on communication.

Clean, neat and tidy, treating homes and belongings with respect. I live a mostly low-tox life and enjoy using and making natural products. Interested in conscious and sustainable living and deeply curious about Indigenous ways of relating to nature.

VERY open minded and receptive to learning. I love random facts, interesting information, listening to different perspectives and seeing things from all angles. Enthusiastic about festivities and traditions. Keen to try new things and learn as many new skills as I can because, why not?

Big soft spot for the underdog; empowering and advocating for those in need.

I speak English so I am happy to help out others who wish to work on theirs. I have Italian heritage and have grown up speaking a bit of Italian, so I would eventually love to become fluent in this. I have also dabbled in a bit of Spanish and, more recently, French, but I would say I'm better at reading/understanding than recalling the words I need at this stage. Maybe this will be something I can master along the way...

Enjoy reading, watching movies and documentaries, music, food, knitting and macrame and hoping to at some stage learn sewing, crochet and the piano.

I am new to Workaway, so please bear with me as I build my feedback reviews. I have previously using the Trusted Housesitters platform, so I am able to share some of my reviews from there, if necessary.

I will initially be travelling with my best friend Paul, before we part ways to each do our own thing. We have lived and travelled together for the past decade and work well as a team. We have been through a lot together and there is no one I trust more. I can wholeheartedly vouch for him, as it would be hard to find anyone more hardworking, generous, loyal and kind. He is a friendly, jack-of-all-trades type of guy with some crazy stories, who is always willing to pitch in and help wherever he can. You would be incredibly lucky to host him as a guest 😊

  Happy to chat further about this, as I am very flexible and self-sufficient and can adapt to fit most lifestyles. I do have some intolerances but I don't require separate preparation (NO anaphylaxis/coeliac) and can work around most of them.
