Description

We are a couple who have been working (very hard!) for many years and in 2022 decided it’s time move on to a new challenge and a different lifestyle.
We are very active and we have a great appreciation for the outdoors.
We have relocated to Portugal and may one day even become a Host with our own project, but as we don't know exactly where we want to be, and before we decide where to settle, we want to help others, use our skills and learn new ones, improve our Portuguese, and immerse ourselves in the local culture.
Last year we used the Workaway community to give us that opportunity of having a base, and helping others, whilst also being able to explore. We got involved in many projects from dry stone walling to delivering lambs!
We are looking to do much the same this year and have references on request plus photos of projects we have done.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Arnie - I am currently Works / Maintenance manager and from an engineering background having worked with machinery for 27 years. I have a good skill set including gardening, construction, maintenance, and can turn my hand to any practical project. I love the challenge of new projects and am willing to learn any skills necessary to complete a task!
I am a very practical hands on person.

Kim - I am from a Technical Sales background, currently a Northern Sales Manager in the Industrial Cladding industry.
I have also run my own floor and wall tiling company where I was owner and tiler.
I have recently been developing a new small team, passing on my knowledge and preparing them for my departure which I have enjoyed.
I am very practical, and love manual work, creating, building and painting, as well as administrative work and general upkeeping.
I love languages, and have taught English to refugees from Iran, and have completed stage 1 of a TEFL course.

Both of us have been learning Spanish for some time, and are now also learning Portuguese and are keen to develop further.

We both love new projects, outdoor pursuits including Paddleboarding, Cycling, Walking and Swimming.

We are avid cooks and enjoy spending alot of time in the kitchen.
