I'm a sports- and musicloving person. I play the piano, like to sing and suck playing the guitar but do it anyways. I'm up for almost every kind of sport, I really like volleyball, dancing, climbing and doing workouts outside :)

Unfortunately this is the first negative feedback I have to leave to anyone.
When I read the description I was really excited to arrive to the Hostel and get to know the little village Aguas Calientes and especially the owner Juan (Kucho). When I finally got there I was welcomed really nice, with calm, nice atmosphere and a really comfortable … read more room in the hotel. Quickly I was presented to Fran, my boss for the next two weeks and, as I understood soon, the only employee in this hotel. In one of the two little conversations I had with Kucho he told me that it was important to him that there is a clear and direct communication, that the volunteers help where Fran needs help, also if they already had finished their shift and that they just ask him (Kucho) if there is any problem or misunderstanding or just questions. We were two volunteers and Fran that had to manage the entire hotel. There are 10 disposable rooms, a kitchen and the reception that had to be cleaned every day. We got up at 6:30 normally, sometimes there was breakfast, sometimes there wasn't. We attended the clients and after the check out all the occupied rooms had to be cleaned, blankets had to be washed and changed, bathroom etc. And in the clients rooms we had to do maintainment. After that we had to clean reception, stairs, dishes etc. In the end there was no shift, we worked every day from 7a.m to 7p.m more or less and even when we finished work Fran sometimes had to leave the hotel and we had to stay there in our free time in case that somebody is arriving. Fran was a really nice person and I don't blame him for following Kucho's orders as every employee would do.. I am just really disappointed from Kucho's person because in those 2 weeks he never managed to have a real conversation with me because he was always occupied or just didn't want to. --redacted text-- So finally I think it is really necessary that they employ more people instead of exploiting volunteers. I can't say I have seen a lot of the village, I haven't been to Macchu Picchu neither. I don't know anything about Kucho and he doesn't know anything about me, there was no cultural exchange at all. I was sick 3 days because of the food and I worked anyways the whole day.. And there was not even a 'thank you' or 'I hope you get better'. So unfortunately that was my first and experience with Workaway and I can't recommend this hotel until they won't employ more people.

Carina is a lovely and very enthusiastic volunteer. She helped us a lot with the hostel, and always had great creative ideas to make our place better. We already miss you Carina, have a nice trip and come back to see us :)

I really enjoyed staying with Joan amd his family. They introduced me in the chilean culture and make me feel at home. Their kids are lovely and I had lots of fun. We had great conversations and they took me to several places. I definitely come back to see you again and I hope we stay in touch! :)
