Valencia

Description

In exchange for hard work and good company, I seek knowledge, skills, experiences, and new people connections - harvesting olives and transforming them into oil. Everything needed before and after harvest, plus olive pressing.

I am a retired software executive now living in Valencia (city) on a NLV (non-lucrative visa) with my wife (retired Operating Room nurse). Originally from Canada, after university I was first a teacher in Nagasaki, Japan, and then forged a career in the software industry in Seattle and California for 25 years.

Two adult children now living in Los Angeles (fashion) and Montreal (high school English teacher).
I have volunteered on home construction projects in Baja California Norte, Mexico, for over a decade prior to moving to Spain. Familiar with collaborative, hard physical labor outdoors in heat/cold/rain.

I am happy, autonomous, easy going, task-completion focused. Love cats and dogs. Healthy and fit.

-Learning Spanish now - aspire to be B2 CEFR by 31/12/2024.
-Can speak conversational Japanese.
-Seasoned people leader (15+ years of corporate management).
-Teaching experience.
-Started working labor jobs at 13 years old and have volunteered in hard, outdoor, physical labor capacity for 10+ years in Mexico.
-Married for 29 years!
-Raised a boy and girl to become kind and thoughtful contributing adults...in California! Not impressed? You try to keep two teenagers out of trouble in that environment. :-)

Autres infos...

I am mostly interested in learning about wholistic olive oil vertical: olive grove care and management, olive oil milling, and olive oil industry in general. Citrus, avocado is a bonus. Very focused.

I smile a lot and have a fairly deep bag of stories and life experiences - always happy to share, engage, and entertain.
