Moin liebe Gastgeber,

wir sind Robert und Kathleen. Kennen uns seit über 15 Jahren und leben seit 6 Jahren zusammen.

Robert ist leidenschaftlicher Handwerker und hatte die letzten 4 Jahre eine eigene Montagefirma in Norddeutschland.

Bei vielen Aufträgen habe ich tatkräftig unterstützt, nicht nur in der Montage sondern auch in der Organisation und Buchhaltung.

Wir sind in den vierzigern angekommen und haben uns voller Tatendrang vor etwa 4 Wochen ein 33 Jahre altes ziemlich herunter gerocktes Wohnmobil gekauft. Entgegen der Empfehlung des Verkäufers und vielen Freunden und Bekannten hat Robert die wichtigsten Sachen selbst gerichtet und wir sind dann nur eine Woche später aufgebrochen.

Und was sollen wir sagen, nach etwas mehr als 2.000km sind wir ohne Probleme, schon an den Pyrenäen 😅 (stand 06.09.26)

Und wenn wir ehrlich sind: Das ständige Weiterziehen ist zwar spannend, aber wir merken gerade, dass wir eigentlich etwas anderes suchen.

Wir möchten *ankommen*. Nicht vielleicht sofort und für immer, aber gerne längerfristig. Mit anpacken, Menschen kennenlernen, etwas aufzubauen oder erschaffen und herausfinden, ob dieses Leben in welcher Art auch immer, das ist wonach wir suchen.

Kurz zu mir: (Das Organisationstalent): Erfahren in Büroorganisation und Buchhaltung. Ich bringe außerdem umfangreiche praktische Erfahrung aus der Hotel-, Gastronomie- und Vermietungsbranche mit – von Küchen- und Servicearbeiten bis hin zu professioneller Reinigung und Gebäudedienstleistungen mit.

Und Robert: ...nun ja, er ist leidenschaftlicher Handwerker (durch und durch), gestartet als Maurer/Betonbauer, dann aber auf leichtere Tätigkeiten umgesattelt. Von Abbruch bis Zimmermannsarbeiten ist ihm nichts fremd.

Wobei er derjenige ist, der kontaktiert wird, wenn etwas kaputt ist und noch niemand weiß, warum oder wie es zu richten ist. 😅

Auch Feld und Farmarbeit ist uns nicht fremd. Wir haben vier Jahre lang einen eigenen Nutzgarten bewirtschaftet. Wir packen an, pflegen Grundstücke und wissen durch unsere eigenen Kinder (im Alter von 10 bis 21), wie man einen großen Haushalt führt und Kids sinnvoll begeistert. Als eingespieltes Team ergänzen wir uns perfekt:

Ich könnte ewig so weiter schreiben, aber stattdessen, schlage ich lieber den persönlichen Kontakt vor.

Hello dear hosts,

we are Robert and Kathleen. We’ve known each other for over 15 years and have been living together for 6 years.

Robert is a passionate craftsman and has run his own installation company in northern Germany for the last 4 years.
I’ve actively supported him on many jobs, not only with the installation but also with the organisation and bookkeeping.

We’re now in our forties and, full of enthusiasm, bought a 33-year-old, rather run-down motorhome about four weeks ago. Against the advice of the seller and many friends and acquaintances, Robert sorted out the most important bits himself, and we set off just a week later.

And what can we say? After just over 2,000 km, we’ve made it to the Pyrenees without a hitch 😅 (as of 06/09/26)

And if we’re honest: whilst constantly on the move is exciting, we’re realising right now that we’re actually looking for something else.

We want to *settle down*. Not necessarily straight away or forever, but certainly for the long term. To get stuck in, get to know people, build or create something, and find out whether this kind of life – in whatever form – is what we’re looking for.

A bit about me: (The organisational whizz): Experienced in office administration and bookkeeping. I also have extensive practical experience in the hotel, catering and letting sectors – ranging from kitchen and catering work to professional cleaning and building services.

And Robert: …well, he’s a passionate tradesman (through and through), starting out as a bricklayer and concrete worker, but then switching to lighter tasks. From demolition to carpentry, there’s nothing he isn’t familiar with.

He’s the one people turn to when something’s broken and no one else knows why or how to fix it. 😅

We’re no strangers to field and farm work either. We ran our own kitchen garden for four years. We roll up our sleeves, look after properties and, thanks to our own children (aged 10 to 21), know how to run a large household and keep the kids happily engaged. As a well-coordinated team, we complement each other perfectly:

As you can see, we’re multi-talented and, together, a well-coordinated team.

Was noch zu erwähnen ist:

Robert spricht gutes Englisch und ein wenig Spanisch sowie ein paar brocken Französisch.

Kathleen steht noch am Anfang ihrer Spracherfahrungen. Hand und Fuß geht immer und den rest macht Google 😅

Am liebsten ist Robert den ganzen Tag, bei Wind und Wetter, draußen. Hauptsache ist, er hat was zu tun.

One more thing worth mentioning:

Robert speaks good English and a little Spanish, as well as a few words of French.

Kathleen is still at the very beginning of her language learning journey. She can make herself understood, and Google takes care of the rest 😅

Robert loves nothing more than being outdoors all day, come rain or shine. The main thing is that he’s got something to do.
