Description

Hi, myself and my partner Rory have recently been traveling in central and South America and are looking for a workaway in Australia before we continue our work back home in New Zealand mid November. For the past 5 years we have both worked in conservation and are used to hard physical work. Our day to day tasks include pest control (trapping rats,feral cats,stoats), native plant nursery work, monitoring wildlife, tree planting and track cutting (with chainsaws and heavy duty weedeaters). We live on an off-grid island (Aotea/Great Barrier Island) and are keen gardeners with a specific interest in fruit trees and agroforestry/food forest style gardening . We are available at a few days notice and have our own transport.

We had a wonderful stay at Suella and John's. They were great to work for, very easy going and flexible. We had a good mix of work and the food was delicious, we will miss John's fruit salads!

Kate & Rory were excellent Workawayers. By the time they arrived, we had signed a contract to sell our place, so the nature of the work to be done changed. They were very adaptable, and were happy to do whatever we asked of them. We can recommend them to anyone else as hard working, knowledgeable people.

Chris and Kate were great volunteers. they stay with us for about 3 weeks and were great fun, hard working and generally a pleasure to work with. We hope they continue having an awesome trip!

I stayed here for 3 weeks, had a great stay and was sad to leave. They are all such great people to work with!! Great place to chillout in the hammocks or go for a kayak.

During the two weeks Kate stayed with us, we experienced her nice energy and the subtle way of doing things. All the work you did with a smile and you were so great with the animals that they sure are missing you too.

I had such a great time with Maria and Mateo! They are such kind and inviting people. It was my first workaway experience and defiantly not my last. In stayed for two weeks but wish I could have stayed longer, I am missing them and their animals a lot
