Description

Hi! We are Diana (29) and Sándor (30), a couple from Hungary, currently taking a break between two big chapters in our lives — and ready to discover the world through meaningful experiences and cultural exchange!
We both grew up near Lake Balaton — Diana in a village, and Sándor in a nearby small town. We’ve known each other since childhood, and now we’ve decided to take this long-dreamed journey together.
Diana is a molecular biologist with a PhD, working as a researcher in a laboratory. Sándor is a chemical engineer, working in the design and construction of water treatment systems (providing clean drinking water infrastructure for communities). We both have strong scientific backgrounds — but at the same time, we’re nature-lovers, creative, and curious about practical, hands-on experiences too.
We’ve always dreamed of seeing the world, not just through short vacations, but by really getting to know different places and ways of life. Now that I've finished myPhD and Sándor is in between jobs, it feels like the perfect time to finally make this dream a reality.
We chose Workaway because we don’t just want to travel — we want to learn, contribute, and discover where we might want to live long-term. This platform gives us the chance to dive into the daily lives of local communities, while also offering our help and sharing our skills. We love the idea of cultural exchange, meeting new people, learning new things, and stepping outside our comfort zone.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We're both quick learners, physically active, and mentally flexible. We work well independently and as a team, and we’re problem-solvers by nature. We're also reliable, hard-working, and happy to help with all kinds of tasks. Some of our practical experience includes:

🏡 General housework, cleaning, and organizing

🍳 Cooking (we both love to cook, and people usually like our food too!)

🌱 Gardening, yard work, basic landscaping

🛠️ DIY and maintenance jobs (Sándor is especially handy with tools and repairs)

🧱 Experience in moving, renovation and construction projects

🐶 Animal care – we both love every animals, and grew up with dogs, cats, chickens (Sándor is a true dog-lover!)

🚗 Driving (Sándor is a very skilled driver and passionate about cars)

💬 Language conversation practice

We’re happy to help with physical tasks as well as intellectual or creative ones, and we’re always eager to try new things!

We’re both social, open-minded, and respectful people. I'm a bit more calm and reserved, while Sándor is more energetic and outgoing — together, we balance each other out perfectly.
