    ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE
In Australia we did workaway at a beautiful place in the hills of Mullumbimby. What originally used to be a 2 week workaway, turned into three months of friendship, learning new things and renewing the garden. We had an amazing time there and really became friends with our 72 year old host. You can find Michael’s review in our profile.

After the workaway we found work at a family farm in Narrabri NSW. Here we lived in the office (tiny space) for three months and learned how to do
    • fencing
    • modify and assemble cattle yard panels
    • disassemble irrigation pumps
    • operating a forklift, tractor and trailers
    • horse care
    • general farm work
    • landscaping
    • general metalwork as grinding, welding and cutting.

We had a lovely time with the family and if we could, we would have stayed longer. Unfortunately the work was running low and so we had to move on. Luckily they called their friend in Griffith and gave us a good recommendation. That’s how we already got a new place to work before even finishing!

Our work in Griffith NSW was a great ending of a wonderful year. We got to show our Engineering and Marketing skills and got very close with the Sillis family. We lived in their shed for three months and wished we could stay neighbours forever! Next to our work as an Engineer and Marketing specialist, we helped the family business at the departments where they needed the help. This could be in the workshop, on site, in administration or in recruiting.
After work we often cooked together and had lovely family dinners!

Pieces of both the recommendations from farmwork in Narrabri and the work in Griffith can be found below. 👇🏼

    MORE ABOUT US
Kaspar finished his master's degree in Civil Engineering back in Switzerland. Kaspar is outgoing, active, caring and a reliable person who is always open for new adventures and experiences. Kaspar: “I love all sorts of outdoor sports like hiking, biking, skateboarding, snowboarding, beachvolleyball and surfing. That's another big goal of my travels: improve my surfing skills! When not being in nature, I love playing guitar and reading books.”

Mikki got her Bachelor’s Degree in International Hospitality Management. After finishing her degree she worked in Hospitality and Marketing. Mikki is a calm and open-minded person who likes a good laugh and a great talk. Mikki: “I am deeply interested in what motivates people and to see different cultures. I love to hear the life stories of others and I am very happy to share mine.”
Mikki loves to cook, learn Swiss and Spanish language, read, photography, enjoy sunsets and do some activities like biking, running and yoga.

    RECOMMENDATIONS
“Mikki and Kaspar worked diligently and completed every task assigned to them, we particularly liked that they were efficient, organized and logical in their approach. They work as selfstarters and as an employer we appreciated that they checked on details prior to going ahead if not completely sure. They are both competent drivers, can safely operate machinery, are able to follow procedures and given their tertiary backgrounds (hospitality and engineering) they understood the complex dynamics ofsmall businesses and shifted easily from task to task without guidance. We loved that they could identify issues and problem solved themselves, it is this secondary "service" of not just doing a job but becoming part of the business by noticing things and understanding their importance. This is what makes them invaluable as employees.“ - Baker Pump Repairs, Narrabri NSW

“Kaspar is a highly intelligent and caring individual who joined our team with ease. Kaspar would be most welcomed into our team again without question should he find himself in our part of the world. Kaspar, while on his journey here in Griffith, stayed with our family. Our children were at ease with Kaspar and he kept them entertained with stories from home and abroad. Our family enjoyed his laughter and witty humour.
Mikki is a warm hearted and honest individual who joined our team with ease. Mikki would be most welcomed into our team again without question should she find herself in our part of the world. Mikki, while on her journey here in Griffith, stayed with our family. Mikki’s culinary skills are extraordinary even to the extent that she was successful in converting our 13-year-old son to eat his vegetables. Our family enjoyed Mikki’s wonderful meals and treats.”
