I'm a 28 year old guy from the Netherlands currently on the biggest adventure of my life. I decided to quit my job as a social science teacher and put all I own into storage to hitchhike around the United States for half a year because even though I love teaching, I've been longing for this adventure for quite a while.

I love to write and I really want to get better at it so I figured that travelling around this continent while writing about my experiences would be a good way to go about that. There's just so many good people out there. Still, camping out in the woods alone and mainly having fleeting connections with the people that pick me up does leave me longing for human connection that lasts a little longer from time to time. Oh yeah, I'm a very hard worker! I actually like manual labor a lot. I'm also pretty handy and a fast learner.

Back home, I used to live in an artistic community which felt like a tiny village within the city. We had a communal vegetable garden, some chickens, we organised an amazing music festival every year and travelling alone has made me realize even more how special this place I had the privilege of calling home was. Unfortunately, this place will get demolished soon. The good news is that we are in the process of moving the community to a different part of the city and we're greatly expanding our vegetable garden and welcoming a large group of newcomers who are in need of a strong community into the new place. I'd love to learn more about gardening, caring for farm animals and growing/preserving crops so I can transfer this knowledge to them when I get home.

I'd love to hear your perspective on life, maybe we can discuss the absurdity of this human condition of ours. I'm pretty sure we'll get along :)
