  • Description

Hi my name is Julia (Giulia my name is spelt the English way), I am nearly 22 years old and from Melbourne Australia. I have two sisters, one older and one younger so I am the middle child. My favourite thing about Melbourne is our coffee and cafes. I do think Melbourne coffee is some of the best in the world. I am a very adventurous person, who loves to try new things and explore different places. In my spare time I play tennis when I can. I played tennis from ages 7 to 21 and I did a lot of competition as a teenager. During the Australian Open, I am very invested and go as often as possible. My favourite players at the moment are Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz.

Travelling is a really important aspect of my life. I am always thinking about when I can go on my next trip, I believe it gives me great purpose in life. To able to experience other cultures, develop independence and personal skills is so important yet rewarding and I believe I find these through travel. In 2023 I went travelling for 10 weeks, it was the most amazing experience and I learned so much about myself. It inspired me to try new things and allow new things to happen which led me to grow within myself. I am hoping my trip this year will do the same, if not more.

I am of Italian heritage, all four of my grandparents moved from different parts of Italy to Australia in the 1950's so I have grown up with a lot of the traditional Italian culture. I admire my Italian heritage, It's something I am proud of and will continue to uphold and share to others. I have done some volunteer jobs in the past for 3 years, such as volunteering at an aged care and volunteering at primary schools. Both of these jobs were extremely rewarding and I really enjoyed my time at each place. They both taught me how to be patient and the importance of communication, it really helped with developing my skills I have today.

I have never travel/volunteer work before but I am really looking forward to it.I have worked multiple jobs, and I think I have some great skills and would be a great help.

I would love to able to speak and learn Italian. I studied the language in high school and have grown up with the language around me, however I can't speak a lot of it. When I do go back to Italy, I do start to remember more of the language and become more confident with speaking the language

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am currently employed as a pharmacy assistant and am looking to take on additional volunteer work while travelling. I completed training in Australia in my current role that allows me to recommend pharmaceutical products, and how to assist customers in an ethical and professional manner. I am trusted by these customers to uphold expertise about pharmaceutical products, confidentiality and professionalism whilst I am assisting them with their wellbeing concerns.

Prior to this, I spent more than 12 months working as a disability support worker providing emotional and physical assistance to individuals. I am able to engage and relate to people at all levels. This job has taught me the importance of communication, how to be well spoken and well presented and to understand how to think and adapt quickly in all situations. Similar to this, I was a babysitter for 2 years. It was my responsibility to walk these children home from school safely, organise after school meals and make sure they were in a safe environment until the parents were home.

I have worked in various industries which has made me very adaptable and able to act on instructions as required. I am a very responsible employee, have always been trusted by my managers and was promoted as a supermarket service supervisor when I worked at Coles supermarket. I had to learn how to adapt to change with all of the various responsibilities that come with working at front end and be responsible for the service team.

And finally, my role as a corporate receptionist really allowed me to see the reality of a 9-5 work life. It was my control to greet all guests and customers , arrange meetings and cater to their daily needs and requests. And at the same time managing all ongoing phone calls and emails and also following a strict confidentiality policy with all clients. This job taught me how to actively listen to clients and guests but also write and elaborate professionally.

I am also great with kids and love working with them. I learn so much from children and I think I can be a great role model / help with children. I am approachable and trustworthy with children, actively listening to what they require but when needed giving advice and maintaining behaviour.
I have my registered working with children's check in Australia and an approved NDIS worker screening checked in Australia.
